While watching some noisy hiking videos, I was hoping for a new Erik Normark video. Yes! "Published 25 seconds ago". So many amazing frames here; the lightly snow covered mountains at sunset, breathtaking. Thank you for these calm videos. They are the next best thing to actually going out there.

In an over excitable world which revolves around hype, hysteria, 3 peaks challenges, Everest expeditions etc your videos are a blessed calming relief. In fact a much needed lesson to me in the art of grace and how to be 'light' in nature. Even when you strike a match it is beautiful to witness. I started taking solitary hikes (and some group mountain walks) a few months ago and yesterday was a turning point for me, whilst on a solitary hill walk, in my ethos about hill walking. Previously I was tramping up and down hills, setting goals, testing my hill fitness, obssessing about my next mountain challenge etc. I decided to try stepping quietly and lightly. It completely altered my experience. It was the most calming thing. I stopped many times to take in the views and listen to the faintest sound. I have missed so much as I have rushed through life. Hiking and seeing your videos has offered me a golden chance to change. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, I'm glad you say that. It is how I see it too, one must take a step back and realize it's not about achieving, but about being a part of something. We are often too fixated on ourselves so we miss what's around us.

This video is so cheering Erik! A video filmed by a naturalist, who knows both how to record high quality sound, and also how to transfer the natural visual and audio ambience of the place where he is to the viewer. You use the right pacing and timing, that reflects what it was like to actually be there. Most nature TV documentaries, and especially travel documentaries, don’t do this. They make the pace to fast, with too many short duration clips all crammed together, one after another. They don’t let you listen to high volume sound, of what is actually being filmed. They make up a story for the sake of the film, adding in many video clips filmed over many months, and edit them together to make it look like they were filmed at the same time. This gives the wrong impression of what it actually looks, and sounds, like to spend time in nature. if you are there in real life watching animals, you often see only one behaviour at a time, and long periods when nothing is happening at all, and when no animals are visible. Worst of all, they add loud volume music over the top. Thank you so much for almost adding no additional music or sound. It is much better this way. On the other hand regular mountain travel videos, made in a back-packing style, might give you a visual idea of what it is like to hike in the mountains, but their sound recording is often atrocious, with heavy wind noise, punctuated by inappropriate music. You use excellent sound design, and well thought, out audio editing. Thank you so much for inspiring other KZfaqrs into what is possible, if they would think for themselves, and don’t just follow the style of what other film makers are doing. Great Gyr falcon! Heartily liked and subscribed! (from a birder who visits Sweden whenever they can).

Förutom att njuta av den underbara filmen försökte orientera mig vart du vandrade i förhållande till hur vi gick. När du sen stod på toppen av urtstjåhkka, - Där har jag stått! Good Morning Erik .. Another Superb Release from you .. eagerly awaited and well worth it 👍 .. thank you 😊. The attention to detail in your Cinematography and what you do, albeit subtle .. is highly effective. An extremely simple representative example thereof .. you have your pot of water ready and your match lit .. before you turn on the gas Unobtrusive perhaps .. but in the long run, it counts .. Take care ..
