I would give everything I have to see my mom coming to my house to stay for several weeks or even to live with me! I was 40 when I lost my mom unexpectedly and then because she was gone, my dad gave up and passed away 2 months later! So many things we take for granted with our parents when we are younger and busy raising our families never considering they will be gone sooner than we think! She didn’t even get to see my kids grow up and they really lost the best grandmother ever! I talked to her on the phone the night before not realizing I would never talk to her again! You are so lucky to have your mom coming to live near you and what a blessing for your kids to have her there! You just don’t realize the things you’re going to miss when they’re gone!

I was thinking as I watched this how crazy the world is that watching someone else clean their house is considered entertainment! But I think one of the things that makes it compelling is how your whole family is involved in doing these project and taking care of your home. Your family is inspiring! Thanks for showing the world that there are still awesome families out there who work together and care for each other, even during tough times and while doing mundane tasks.

Pre-heat to 425 degrees. Line your sheet Pan/jelly roll pan with foil or parchment paper and lightly grease it. You can use any store bought or homemade pancake mix that you’d like from what I can tell. I’m sorry, I don’t have exact measurements, I kind of just eyeball it! Bake for 5-8 minutes. They are done cooking when springy and a toothpick in the center comes out clean. Pull them out and brush them with melted butter, and put them under the broiler for 1-2 minutes. DO NOT WALK AWAY AT THIS POINT, THEY BURN FAST! Take them out, slice however you’d like while still warm, and serve! You could probably add any mix ins you’d like. Once they cook, they freeze nicely too, but I’d recommend wrapping the individual servings in parchment paper in the freezer bag to prevent sticking (:

Kelli Harrison, u r not alone!! I was thinking the same thing. That must feel really good. I know that whatever relationship we do hv with our kids (teens especially) they will love us even when they (think) that they hate us- they really do love us! Some of us (when we were teens) hv great relationships from birth and some of us do not appreciate our parents until we r adults!! Or parents ourselves. The later was definitely me. Which is a HUGE REGRET, for me. I hv accidentally projected my own teenage BS onto my 14yr old daughter. Because, well, she says that she hates me and I'm waaaaay too/more strict. A lot more than her friends parents! That's ok with me; I think that means that I'm doing my job. It's what works for me and my ethics/values, etc. However, my husband and I have started therapy for our marriage, family and personally too. Bcuz my 14yr old is extremely defiant to basically, JUST ME!! She's had a little bit of trouble and fortunately her consequences were not very stiff bcuz she was under the age of 13. Otherwise, she could hv had a permanent record! She has had mandatory therapy when these kinds of things have come up. But she never participates and therefore she doesn't benefit. Not once hv I ever had bad reports from any friends parents'. They ALWAYS compliment her; how well-mannered, helpful, respectful, gracious and kind.🤯🤯🥸 But here at home, not a chance. She has brought up so much from my own childhood that I had regretted. I was just like her!! Unfortunately for me that stubbornness/defiance eventually got me using substances to mask or deal with those things. In which my mom tried to get me to therapy but I refused. Just like my baby girl. I don't mean to project or spew onto you gals or my daughter🤪🤫🤐. But, I'm at a loss on how to parent this kid. NOT TO MENTION HOW SUCKY IT HAS TO BE FOR THESE POOR KIDS!! (During virus shut down)😬😬She's behind in school, only wants a phone without sticking to the 3 simple (well,to me) expectations that we hv for her : 1. School is #1 priority, period. 2. Attitude & behavior is consistent- to me(parents) and sibling). 3. Chore is done by the time we (family) collectively decided. She can NOT...ACTUALLY SHE WILL NOT be consistent for more than a week!! And, a week is being very generous. But, she wants a phone! I call the cell phone a privilege. She doesn't see it that way. She has had 3 of my old phones to use but all hv been overwhelmed and broke... her grandpa gv us his old iPhone to use and that died too! This turned into my very own therapy/venting session, didn't it? I sorry... I'm struggling with her. I don't want her making the same mistakes that I made. Consequences can be life changing and not in a good way. I just love her so much and she has her whole life ahead of her. That can all change with the top of felonies. And karma that would be devastating. I just wanted to reassure you that no matter what they still love you and your doing it right either way because you care. Thanks for letting me go off… lol LMBO SMH!! Any advice help opinions ideas would be very much appreciated if anyone gets for her enough through this post and read that all hopefully made some sort of sense Any advice help opinions ideas would be very much appreciated if anyone gets for her enough through this post and read that all hopefully made some sort of sense!! Thanks @FrugalFitMom ALWAYS admire ur energy, thought for detail (but in reality) not some "perfect" stepford wives world! 😜😜🥸 ALL MOMS NEED SUPPORT, MOMS SUPPORTING MOMS, UNASHAMED, TEACHABLE AT 43!! I have a good relationship with them because I always followed through with discipline and I was not afraid to say I was sorry. Apologizing meant so much for them! To soften butter...put butter on plate, boil water, pour water into a glass (that is big enough to cover butter on plate), let it sit for a minute, dump out water and dry off glass, place glass over butter (the glass should still be hot). Usually takes about 5 minutes to soften. I’ve also done the same thing with a glass bowl if I need a lot of butter!

I actually just made your Banana Bread last night! I slightly overcooked it, so I gotta adjust the time. Even slightly overcooked, it still was amazing.

The kids are hilarious, I hope poor smiley recovered his beheading. Try a tub shroom for the shower, best thing ever to prevent clogs. I found a stainless steel version at TJMAXX, so accidentally classy in my hovel.

To soften button without a microwave, heat a bowl of water in the microwave to boiling. Set a pie plate on top of the bowl (or a bowl that will fit across the top and down into the bowl a little bit) down on top of the hot water. Leave it to sit for a while.

I forget my butter in the microwave all the time, so I started using a different trick. Fill a glass cup with hot water and dump the water out. Stand the butter up tall and place the glass upside down over the butter. The steam/heat melts the butter to perfect “softened” consistency for me 👍

The sheets with hard to decide corners I take a safety pin into the elastic in the bottom corners. Or you could do a quick stitch of ribbon in the bottom corners.

Put a cup or tumbler/glass over the butter. It will soften. I found re-useable Swiffer pads at Dollar Tree last week. Very exciting discovery.

Your boys at the end are cute with their little performance. I will try you banana bread, I've made a variety and they all rock! I like the longer pan for it and will get from Amazon. Will try your cookies too. Thanks! Love watching how you economize on your meals.

Also if it bothers her that much I really think she should clean it herself. It sounds like she complains about it, which is pretty rude as she's a guest in your home.
