What's hurt the PGA ratings is all the new players we haven't heard of and none of the familiar names. As viewers warm up to the new players and develop favorites the ratings will come back. The new players are very talented.

Chubby wanting to grab a bit of spotlight? Someone obviously asked his opinion, and he gave it. And then "news" outlets seeing an opportunity to generate clicks or views based on using Chubby as a source? Isn't that today's media?

Were I LIV, I would issue a statement saying we have zero interest in Rory McIlroy. Rather we have entered into agreements with x-z players, under 30 years of age for $100,000,000 apiece. Rory, you, Monahan and the OWGR can choke on it. I'd push the team concept, up the team payouts and differ myself as much as possible from the PGA tour.

With all the money being thrown around and the fact that golf is getting so expensive to play with a round of golf for two at $100, and a new driver close to $1000, irons over $2000, how can people justify the expense? More and more people will find cheaper alternatives 🤷‍♂️

I very recently played golf with a member at wentworth and Rory came up in conversation and he heard from somebody in his management team say it’s a done deal just ironing out how and when.!!!!

As to TV ratings excluding the current divisions the cost to watch golf and most sports is getting crazy and the BBC hardly cover any golf so i prophesise more declining figures.

As far as Masters ratings go, I just think that golf in general as a TV product doesn’t have enough excitement to hold casual fans the way a lot of other sports do. I really don’t think it has anything to do with the PGA/LIV split, the TV product is just really slow for the most part and that’s where they lose a lot of interest. It feels like it’s mostly for the diehards and gamblers/DFS players who want to sweat their bets. As for Rory, I have zero doubts that he has received offers in that range. And just like Rahm, he will hold out until they give him an offer he can’t refuse…or the tours officially merge what ever that eventually looks like

850 million dollars! He is nuts, if he doesn’t take the money. Play less, be home on Sundays, have less fans and still play in the majors, are you kidding me?

Liv golf online media promotors capitalising on the masters week hype started the rumours to highlight the Liv tour

I don’t think Rory is going to LIV as a separate entity. But it wouldn’t surprise me AT ALL if Rory was cut a fat check for being loyal to the PGA when the merger finally takes place. Rory would essentially join PGA-LIV but post-merger. Why? I just don’t think these big stars on the PGA are going to just sit by and watch LIV golfers rejoin the PGA with all that fresh LIV cash in their pockets. Everybody likely wants a piece of the pie.

How good would Marcus Armitage be on LIV just the kind of guy they are after. Would miss him on European tour though

I hope not! As Liv is the only golf tournament I’m always excited to watch! If McElroy in that will spoil my Liv watching day time! I like most of the players at Liv, except Kim I hope he will tidy up a little for good visuals ( like cutting that tinsy ponytail) & he looks so messy too.

The 750 is legit iykyk. It's not thru his agent but thru someone closer . Rorys dad and chubby are close , just saying 😊 . In statement he said firstly that he or team hadn't had offer . Everything he said after like playing out career on pgat would be trumped if he does get one .

I think the LIV players have lost their competitiveness and they have hurt their chances of success and world ranking. They worked very hard to be at the top of their game and have traded it all away. They lost their edge.

The rumor was repeated to get other players to think about making a move. Rory was a non starter. It is how they use the media to get momentum. I still think Rahm was talking LIV to Finau in round 4 of the Masters. Not soliciting, but giving some clarity to Finau's caution. No one is going to believe that LIV has stopped recruiting since the merger is still in the air. I watch both tours and LIV has not caused the top players to degrade. The players who got the money and now the time to be with family are HAPPY. They don't put in the practice except those who feel they still have a strong chance to win a major. Remember 50% of the score is putting so when one is near the field in driving stats and accuracy why bother to practice since there is no Fedex standing and OWGR ranking.If somehow in the merger the two rankings were relevant, then LIV would be practicing more. So don't blame LIV, blame the ranking organizations for excluding many top players. There is no incentive since they are getting paid with time off. Final comment on TV ratings... viewership is down due to paid streaming services and commercial saturation. Before the carnage one could view the tour for free. I don't have the patience anymore to sit through the same 5 commercials every hour for 4 hours. To me the sponsors would be better and get far more attention if they sponsored for an hour with their logo watermarked on the TV screen and commercial free. I believe ROLEX did that during the Open. I was impressed. Keep on bait clicking... at least it is interesting.

Chubby chandler was just put out because Rory left him as manager and Chubby missed out on cashing in since on the success Rory has had.

Doesn’t make sense for Rory to move to LIV. He wants majors. To go to LIV he will actually make his window for gaining entry into majors purely relying on world ranking to get in. As soon as he joins LIV his ranking is going to go down and with him not exempt into majors as a past winner won’t have a way in through LIV. If he had won a major in the last 2 years then maybe you could see it happening but with him on a major drought for the past decade it’s more important for him to be able to compete in as many as he can. Don’t see it happening as it would impact with his deal with tiger in their sim golf league. But maybe with a merger it probably wont matter in the end 🤷‍♂️

Branded Chamblee is not helping anything. He makes it hard to watch the Golf Channel. Not sure why he gets to try and tell people what to think and why the players make the decisions they do.

I believe LIV set professional golf back 20+ years. The LIV players got their money but their skills atrophied, and they will never leave behind a legacy

I don't care if Rory stays or goes. I never liked him anyway. The reason the Masters numbers were down, in my opinion, is because it was boring. No excitement. I fell asleep watching it. I wish the LIV guys could have added to the drama. I would watch a LIV tournament over the PGA.

PLEASE STOP with this PGA v LIV CRAP. IF you realise that they are all in the same club and run by the same people and those same people run everything in this world including FOOTBALL, TENNIS , CRICKET, THE OLYMPICS, etc etc. ALL THE STUPID amounts of money banded about for contracts then you can dismiss all this shit from your lives LIVES ; LIV something we are increasingly not allowed to do.

IMHO LIv is be better off focusing that money on Hovland, Aberg, max, Collin, Clarke, Tony and others. Forget Rory and the golden boys destined for special treatment from Jays tour. Rory should be the last person to get a phat check from LIv. I get he has toned down his rhetoric but Rory is disliked by a lot of LIv fans who will not forget all the drama anytime soon. Not to mention the obnoxious Ryder cup drama from Rory. Kudos to this chubby for continuing to find ways to stay relevant event though all his famous golf stable pretty much left him a while ago.
