if yo put the rock or dirt clump in your off hand you will only get that type from crouch right clicking the Grass Block just an FYI.

You can make the compacted blocks from cobble and dirt and right clicking those gives you the block rather than the chunks that take 4x to make 1 block, they decay after 10 min tho so get a drawer ready and fill it lol
