Thanks for the upload Mike!!! 1 question please? Why would one log the suggested changes over just running live turn at all times? I'm a little confused, I'd think you'd load a map and just run live tune for every? is this not correct or is it damaging? Thanks in advance, Chuck

Mike Bienvenu Thanks, Hey I think I'm screwed? I have the bench ecu flash kit, and the active tune, I've been scratching my head where to hook it up I guess I need the bike harness?

Hey Mike, In the video I can see something that says Paid Features. What is that? Do you have to pay extra for those?

Hi Mike, Thank you for the video. At min 3 you mention sending customers AFR mapping. Were you referring to only the R1 or do you have a file for a 2017 Fz-07? I made my purchase in January and finally getting around to setting active tune up.

So from what I gather in the video and comments in this thread, I'm going to start with the unrestricted Fz07 image, not use any external files to remap (like a Dynaojet map), perform the process in the video, and go on my merry way? The next level up would be to go to a dyno and get some professional help, right?

I have a 2017 Fz07. I already purchased the data link flash from you and love it. I was looking into getting the active tune as my bike still has some pops and crackles and I would like to get it on a dyno at some point. Is there a email I can send to help me find the right package I need?

Do I have to do the passive way first (like you did: write passive mode, go ride bike, get back, write new table etc.) or can I just load a default map, enable activetune and I'm good? If not, is there and advantage of doing passive first like you did?

Hi there, no you can do it in active from the get go, I just did it in passive to a) show you how to b) to observe what changes it was going to make live as a sanity check. Let me know if I can help further

Do I still have to use Dynojet Power Commander tunes for my specific intake and exhaust setup? Not sure if the Active Tune kit makes the download tunes unnecessary.

So basically I will be good with a bench tuner and active tune. I can run a ftecu map, make sure "Disable Closed Loop" is set to "True" and "Enable" the "Live Correction Mode" and I should be good to go?

CaFFeineSouL you are better with the bike side kit and activetune so you can apply the learned trims two or three times. Email me sales@veloxracing.com if you want me to go over the reasons why

With active tune enabled does it save updated map automatically or does it start over at pre active tune map unless I save it manually before turning off key?

After each read of the trims you write it to the ecu and that then becomes your new base map that activetune works from.

you can yes, or you can purchase your own FTecu kit and flash and enable the activetune, apply the trims yourself

@@BienvenuMotorsports awesome thank you bud. Ill get my tuner to do everything. As i have my bike set up on woolich but come to find out their active tune setup costs more than the whole ftecu set up between active tune/ license/ and tune. Also making the swap because woolich hasnt gotten their shit together and they still dont allow zoft limiter bumpimg yet which is an issue for me because my bike never stops making power so there is more to be had.

Mike, can you write trim values to the base map when you have live tune enable? I'm seeing conflicting information. On Flashtune website site has embedded video link on active tune, and their instructions are saying that you can save trim values on live tune. Can you please advise?

@@VeloxRacing So you can do both options to build a good base map from. From my view point, it looks easier do it from livetune mode, vs. Passive. I wanted to know if it is better to it from passive mode as your video is stating. Thanks Mike.

After having a haltech ECU on my old car I was so excited by the name "active tune". I thought it was going to be similar. Kind of disappointed that for $7-800 for all the pieces its just setting a target AFR and then you read/wrote data after runs. Haltech allows you to write data in real time and will do the same tuning to a selected AFR by pressing a key. Pair that with a solid state Dyno such as a Dyno dynamics and you can target exact load cells. Sad face.

Hi there I think you are missing the point, ActiveTune does tune the bike automatically for you as you ride. You need to create map that allows activetune to tune the bike within it's safety limits, and for that reason only you need to do 2 or 3 runs to be sure the trims it is doing are within the safety limits preset in the software. These safety limits are there to stop the software tuning the bike to destruction if for instance the lambda went bad and gave false AFR readings. In normal use once setup with a good base map you should not need to read and write trims again.

Total trash ECU flash software. Woolrich has 10x the tune-ability. Sorry I went with this BS version. Research your purchase! I am a confirmed FTECU customer.. totally not happy with my purchase after getting flashed with Woolrich. Wanted blockoff plate warning engine light fixed and o2 sensor engine light fixed, and was told you are out of luck unless you have the right motorcycle on our list. You sell a $400 product that you do not upgrade/fix? Says it all!

Really sorry you have had a bad experience with your purchase. If you can email me details of your conversations with FTecu support to sales@veloxracing.com. This must be to do with a specific map file for the base software and not the activetune product in this video???
