@@SaraStratSniper so OTM? I assume this would make the contract cheaper, thus the gains larger? I hear so many say OTM is risky, but I guess in this case it makes sense when you have a specific target in mind that is realistic. I'm relatively new to options, but have been playing with them. The gains will be larger only if the target gets hit in the same day because with passage of time if the target gets hit the following day those contracts go down from your purchase price by the theta value. It will be great to get your clarity on what expiration cycle you buy and how to avoid this theta decay when buying?

I thought the same thing…continuity was based off of the opening price…have you got any confirmation on this?

Update on 5/2: If I understand the Strat (and I may not) SPY would now be a continuation short on a daily close at around $415. Am I correct, or no?

As I stated in the video, I put the indicator in the description

well the open of a bar is relative to its previous closing bar. If you open the week on Monday higher than you closed on Friday, the day and week will be green.

@@SaraStratSniper Just to clarify furher, if the bar closes below its open but is still above he previous bar's close, the time frame continuity for that bar would still be green (up) even though it is down from its open(the bar would be red). Sorry for nitpicking, but trying to fully understand TFC.

@@glennsilverman522 you're really overcomplicating this lol. If a candle closes above its previous candles close its green, if it closes below the previous candles close it's red.

Just like all the other adds on outside bars, we know that failed 2 downs that are green have a high likelihood of becoming 3's aka outside bars especially with the 50% retracement rule I spoke about in detail and FTFC to the upside.

I know exactly what the continuity is on every ticker before I enter it because of the indicators I use. I never go into a trade blind. I do chart prep the night before every night.

Also I’m a little confused on one video saying that if you are charting on the daily then the entry and stop should go on the daily, but then I see you go to a smaller time frame for an entry. So should you move the stop to the smaller action signal on the lower time frame?

No not always. The best PMGs are the ones in favor of FTFC

@@SaraStratSniper Thanks. I think I messed up a few trades, looking for PMG on daily time frame and it not happening because it wasn't enough reversal to take out previous low/high from the higher time frame. In this case the higher time frame would be the weekly.

I have all the longer time frame charts on one of my monitors so I can quickly see what’s going on with the longer timeframes and how they may impact my trade on the shorter. You would be surprised how often what you see developing on the longer timeframes affect price action on the shorter timeframes. I’m always marking up charts when I have free time and many times a stock hits my scanner intraday and the chart loads up with all the levels I drew in the past already there and it makes trading so much easier. Really helps when you are adding into a big move. I also have scans built that look for Strat-based setups that I’ll run end of day and on weekends to mark up charts and set alerts.

Hey Tom. Bc of the 50% rule and time frame continuity. Failed 2 Downs, when in conflict can become 3s. 50% or more retracement thru previous candle is when we can begin assuming we are going for an outside day.
