Have a great Weekend and thank you for this classic presentation on Strat Rules on Magnitude and exhaustion risk. You are getting so good at this stuff. As a Prof in my previous life, I always said that you only become a MASTER when you can teach the subject well and you are proof of it. Your explanation of the topic is as good as it can IMO and keep doing it. STRAT is the best system to use for trading because it is based on price action and not on lagging indicators. STRAT is always right because it shows what took place and the 3 rules that Rob invented as the laws of trading are universal and cannot be wrong after the bar is complete. Only challenge is executing the trade during the bar formation and if STRAT logic is applied correctly with risk management it is the best system to consider. Keep STRATTING!!!

I religiously watch Robs videos but have never had a clear understanding of how exactly (price point) magnitude is calculated. You're video really helped me get a clear understanding of this. I was thinking it was the high and low of previous compound bars. I was in the ball park but your video explained it. Very much appreciated !!

Thanks again Sara for this video. This really helped clear some stuff up for me. I took a pretty disheartening loss because of greed last week and I'm still pissed off at myself for doing it. I knew better and I could hear your voice in my head saying to get out. I should've listened. I just need to be okay taking profits even if they're small. A win's a win and I just need to accept that. Sorry for the ramble, but thank you for this video. Great great stuff.

Something goofy is happening FROM the time I record, TO the uploading process. It removes chunks of footage. I had a whole section on the $SPY monthly chart, about how we haven't broke a previous month's low in 6 months and it magically disappeared when the vid uploaded to KZfaq. If anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this, I'm all ears! Remember, I'm new to the whole KZfaqr thing and learning as I go. Appreciate any info or advice you may have for me. Hello Sara! I came across Strat yesterday and since then have watched 5 of your videos. I absolutely love the clarity in your videos and how you explain them in depth without rushing through the charts. I'm learning so much from your videos. Thank you : ) . I have a question on the bearish Roku trade which you spoke about in the video which was entered on the 2D after the 1. Why was the prior 2D candle which is before the 1 candle not considered for a 2-2 bearish reversal trade (I am referring to 6.44 in the video where you drew the line to indicate the exit for the long trade at 361 which I assume could have also been the entry for the bearish trade based on 2-2 bearish reversal). Is it from experience you know that entering a 2-2 bearish trade at that prior 2D candle at 361 would not take out the low of the prior green candle and that it would not have the required magnitude to achieve the profit target?

Sean K Im new so maybe I need to watch more videos. I love this woman, but I would like to know how to act now & in the future. Without seeing a chart from days ago. For instance give us a CURRENT chart and a prediction for the future. (That the strat teaches). That info teaches us much more IMO. Either way I’m a fan. Sara is great. My goal is to teach you how to scan and find your own setups. Start looking for weekly inside bars and see what happens once the next week breaks its high or low. Practice seeing 212's on any time frame really.

Love the videos! Question though. At roughly the 5:22 minute mark, you seem to show the wrong profit targets. The first profit target, IF I understand correctly, should be the 2d candle before the 1. The second profit target should be the low of the 2u, and only then you get to the first profit target you highlighted. If I'm mistaken, please let me know!

Hello Sara! I've recently discovered The Strat and I absolutely love it. I'm learning so much from you. I've heard you mention about taking profit at the target in other videos so I was excited to find this one. My question is are you setting limit orders so when the target hits your trade is placed or are you literally watching it. Also, do you take 100% of your profit at the target regardless if there is a continuation or not? Subsequently if there is a continuation do you wait for a pullback to get back in or are you done with that ticker. For me I've learned that most of the times when I try to go back in I lose most of my gains so after I win with a ticker I walk away from it. However, I don't know if that is a result of my flawed thinking or not. Thanks in advance if you get a chance to actually reply to this comment.

That's up to the trader. I take most of my profit at my first target. U can leave a runner for the rest if u want or just move on to another trade. Consistency is key. You'll never go broke taking profit but hoping for more and letting it go against you is never a good thing to do.

Sure. The thing is, when they fail, we just flip the opposite direction and turn ourosers into winners. On my recent video about how my weekly setup started and how they're going I talk about a failed trade. The ticker was $TRIP. Anytime I get a failed trade it's usually because it ends up turning into an outside bar

In this video, you mentioned "gap fill" on the BABA chart and I hear strat'ers saying "Mind the Gap" and I heard another video where you said you want the price to pass through your trigger and not have it "gap up" or you won't make the trade. Can you please do a video about "minding the gap" and "gap fill".

It's kinda a preference. Sara likes price to continue on without gapping. Rob likes the gappers because they either keep going with momentum or it will fill back in. Either way it makes for some good trading because its going to go crazy or it's going to retrace because of weakness. Hope that makes sense?

Thanks, I do not. My trades are never more than 1 month out bc there is no way to predict price a year from now. Unless you are strictly a fundamental trader and just believe in the company long term.

Thanks for another great video. Quick question... with AMC and GME were those trades taking place within a "mother bar"? If so, how should we trade differently when inside one? The reason I ask is because I have seen some other strat videos where they talk about "mother bar problems" and I wasn't sure what they meant or what to do about it.

The mother bar is a tricky concept. Everything that's not at all-time Highs are All Time Low's is inside on a larger timeframe even if it's the one year. If you stick to setups that can potentially trigger a larger time frame, those are okay to take as long as you take profit where you're supposed to. Otherwise you will just chop around inside of that mother bar

Love your videos Sara! Regarding risk management on a higher time frame such as the daily. If let’s say you traded a 2-1-2 bullish pattern; would you still have your stop on the low of the 1 (inside bar)? Reason for asking is because on the higher time frames the risk (spread) is quite large compared to the smaller time frames?

I updated the strat combo sheet. stops can be tighter bc of outside bars. So halfway thru the 1 is where u can put ur stop if u want it tighter

Hi Sara. Thanks for the great strat videos. I'm learning a lot. I had a question about 1-2 reversals and 1-2-2 rev strats. Do you still jump in on the break of the 1 bar to the high or low even though you aren't sure if its a reversal vs a rev strat, or are you waiting for the second 2 bar? I would sometimes hop into a trade after a 1 bar breaks, only to have it break the other way on the following 2 bar. as a rev strat and get stopped out.

yes you can still take the first 2 if you aren't fighting full time frame continuity. If it's wrong, just get out and wait for the new setup .

open. But they can change. a 1 can become a 2 and a 2 can become a 3

Thanx Sara. Are u inclined to take your entire profit at target 1 or would u scale out, say 1/2 and 1/2 at target 2 after moving stop up to B/E? In addition do use the SQQQ to short or directly in the QQQ?

I am an impatient Trader so I usually take my profit at Target 1, but you can certainly take half at Target 1 and half at Target 2. I play options

Hello Sara. Thanks for the video. It really helped a lot! May I ask if you can share your watchlist and how you can screen the PMG? Also, I have watched a lot of your videos and you talk about weekly and monthly chart as well. So, do you sometimes hold the stocks to hit the weekly or monthly target by selling some of your positions when they hit the primary targets? Like when a stock is doing a 2-2 reversal on a monthly chart, will u hold the stock when it breaks out until it reaches the target on a monthly chart? Thanks.

I talked about the monthly but I don't make a trade that lasts a month. I know where the monthly is but I only trade a week out at a time

You are playing options because of the underlying price action. So... when your underlying hits its target, close your option position.

Hi Sara, not sure if you're receiving alerts on comments as this his been 10 months since this video was made. Great stuff by the way. I heard about the strat from RS and kinda put on back burner and found your vids so revisiting the subject. So my question, at about 14:02 AMC weekly chart, the trend lines which constitute the BF are not drawn in the BF fashion (HH to HH & LL to LL) but the usual and customary trendline (LH to LH & HL to HL). What happened to BF? Why the change in trendline points. TY

No everything is all about price action. Per the Strat combo sheet we know what we're versus look like and we know when it's going against us and that is when we will get out
