Sergei Polunin was the Royal Ballet's youngest ever principal, but quit unexpectedly aged 21. He has since founded the platform Project Polunin and is about to open 'Satori' at London Coliseum. It features 'Take Me To Church', based on the 2015 viral video.
He talks about finding self-expression through dance and new beginnings.

I agree! I've heard him being called the 100 years ballet performer...as in once in 100 years is there a talent such as his. He has been touted as better than Barishnikov and Nurinev (sp?). Having watched them all my life, and now Sergei, I believe it is true. I am in Thrall. Thank goodness for KZfaq and the access to watch every performance he has done!

I love the way when he says certain words he sounds really English - like 'creatin' - he has obviously picked it up from being around people - it is very endearing. Makes him sound like a wide boy.

Wow. He sounds calmer. He's still so young but he has grown from his more erratic phase. I hope he continues to dance, and I would love to see him still do some of the traditional ballets, like Romeo & Juliet. He is such a brilliant dancer, and I am greedy for more opportunities to see his work.

A great being, a great dancer, a beautiful soul, an amazing man, one that we can all appreciate and to use as our example to do better ourselves. Thank you, Sergei, for all the joy you have brought so many. Your dancing is phenomenal and your heart is even better. I apologize for any one who has been negative to or about you. You do not deserve any criticism of any kind. The dedication and hours of daily work you have put in to become such an amazing man and being are Beyond most men and or woman's ability or commitment. Blessings to you, dear soul. roxi, 949.878.7100

Where is Jade, his bff from school in England (and who, by the way, conceived of and CHOREOGRAPHED this dance originally at Sergei’s request), for his best friend when Sergei canceled their vacation plans)? In all the hoopla and big names now associated with this amazing star-making piece, where is JADE’S name? It seems to me that he should be basking in at least SOME of the reflected glory. And I’m sure that public knowledge of where the choreographic “bones” came from would be a huge leg up (pun intended) for Jade’s career as a choreographer.
