We're back in Tay Models! For the first time in weeeeell over a year.
This is a close look/first impressions video, of the new FTX Torro; a 1/10 scale, 4WD, Ready-to-Run (ish), Nitro-powered Trophy Truck.
You could almost call this a preview! Maybe.
I know basically nothing about Nitros, so over to you, Alun!
Remember, let me know if you want Alun to lose mone... I mean, to demo the truck! Yeah, that's what I was going to say.

I have this model. It is nice . As to the beginning of the video you said about the shell not sitting on the frame. That's because the roll bars on the frame have to go over the exhaust and you had it sitting on top of it. If you pull the frame down over the exhaust the shell will sit level. :) There are break in videos but I think I'd rather see you guys do it

Yep, I figured that out at a later time! That's nice to hear, thanks for that! I have a complete review series, which includes the run-in: "The Two Zorros". They're long videos, but I tried not to miss anything out.

Hey folks, great channel…. Did you ever do a speed run on the nt zorro? What result did you get… I’m only guessing mine hits 35mph with a lean tune 🤷‍♂️

Actually, this is in Scone. You are right, Tay _RACERS_ was in Balbeggie. This is Tay _MODELS_ , owned by the son of the man who owned Tay Racers.

What truck shell could you put on it any cool ones ?

It's a full-size short course truck, so any 1/10 SCT body shell will fit. As well as most truggy shells.

Ok,so this is a bit of a shop promo, but seriously,you are lucky yo have a shop you can actually visit-the nearest one to me was over 30 miles away,horrendously expensive (wasn't in UK) and closed last year when the owner retired,after 40 years. Trying to find a shop where the owner is knowledgeable and friendly is almost impossible,the one "nearest " to me now in England is run by a bunch of arseholes that have their own little clique and almost resent you going in the door-been to quite a few like that. So go back often,I for one won't object to more vids. Oh, and like I said, RUN IT!

Yeah, it makes a massive difference, when a shop owner not only knows his stuff, but genuinely cares about customer srvice etc. But don't tell Alun I said that... his head is big enough! I reckon that counts as two votes from yourself, just because!

Regarding the engine: It's the same as the HPI G3.0. It's a good engine; not insanely powerful, but powerful enough for a truck like that, and if you treat it well it will last several years before requiring a rebuild.

Yes, the hpi engine is built by force engines.

Is that the FTX5556B, FTX55420 or the FTX5542B and, can anybody tell me the difference please? There seems to be a substantial price range.

This used to be the FTX55420, but they were legally forced to change the name and now the part number is FTX5542B. FTX5556B is a brushed electric model, with the same name and looks, but is actually a completely different machine.

Looking at this and the Carnage on websites it seems like this is waterproof and the carnage isnt? Is that true, I need to know cause it always rains here!

Are you referring to the nitro versions? If so, the only mechanical difference is that this has better servos. So, it could be that the servos on this are waterproof, but the ones on the Carnage are not. That's just a guess, though.

I have just bought this and it came t8day I out through tanks through it already and it's a good truck only bas 2 thing is recvier box is way to small and u have to cram all the wires in forcing them and try could break and the steering was messed up,for me it turns good to the right and nd left not so much I cannot wait to break it in now properly doesn't really give up much info on to break into in Manuel 5 which is strange
