Where do you get team c spares from, getting hard to find, I'd like the nylon gears and ceramic balls..! 👍
@TheRCScotsman6 күн бұрын
They are hard to find. I usually just keep an eye-out on ebay.

My outlaw doesn't turn very sharp, any suggestions on how to make it turn better?
@TheRCScotsman16 күн бұрын
It's probably got play in the servo saver. Check if the servo saver has slop in it and, if so, see if you can tighten it. The standard servo is also very slow and weak. A servo upgrade may be on the cards! Good luck.

Dose this chassis fit wheel base 257 body shells
@TheRCScotsman16 күн бұрын
Yes. That's the exact wheelbase of the chassis.

Hello, I have two of these FTX. 1 brushed version, 1 brushless since 6 years at least. Brushed version: I burnt 2 or 3 motors. They lasted maybe 20 mn each. So I upgraded to a brushless motor (requires to change the ESC as well). Then the gear spur was used very quickly. After 2 spurs, I upgraded to a metal spur. Nice, but then the pinion gear was used very quickly, had to upgrade to a metal pinion. Driveshaft broke, so I had to replace it with an aluminium one. Then the alum one just broke two weeks ago. Got to get a heater to unblock the screw because I had to apply some loctite, otherwise, the screw would go off with the vibrations... Then the brushless version, same issue with the driveshaft and the spur and pinion. All upgraded with metal/alumn parts. Got to upgrade to metal frame 'cause it broke. Rear arm also broke got to upgrade to aluminium as well... Had to change the servo 'cause after a run on the beach, some salty water must have gone in.. So overall, I spent more time fixing the two damn things than running them. It is a pity 'cause when they are running, they are a lot of fun!! Today, I am wondering if I would not be better to buy another brand (Traxxas or ARRMA) rather than countinuing to repair...
@TheRCScotsman16 күн бұрын
Ah, man! That's the quintessential Outlaw experience! Yeah, mine has been very, very similar! Spent a lot more on fixes and upgrades, than the initial retail price. They are fun, though. There's no denying it! It's 100% up to you. There are cheaper brands than Traxxas and Arrma, that still offer strong, reliable models. Have a look at HPI and Maverick, for example. However, if you want strength, the Arrma Senton is basically bulletproof!

I still love watching your Komodo running. Must be great to have it working right, after all the issues you had with it. I'd still love to have another Gmade, but they're getting more expensive, as with everything!! 🤷🏻♂️ I did manage to pick up another Carisma Sca1e Coyote for just over £100 recently, and that's a really nice truck. And another nice location to run in, too. 👍🏻
@TheRCScotsman16 күн бұрын
Thank you. Yeah, it's certainly a nice truck and great performer. Oh, that's a steal! The Coyote is a brilliant little truck.

Lol very funny 😂😂😂😂 thats the first thing I did got rid of the old esc piece of junk lol. Just tinkering and rebuilding one ATM, cut the body resprayed it too in a aluminium I even sprayed the helmets white. Tempted to nick a brushless combo out of a truck for it as I have the motor mount 😅 but nice video mate 👍🏼 even though it's six years ago you must be 37 now im 36 funny how these things after 6 years are still great rigs in my eyes anyway
@TheRCScotsmanАй бұрын
Thanks very much! Sounds like you're having a lot of fun with it, which is exactly how it should be. Going brushless is great, but be prepared to upgrade the spur and pinion! Spot on! Yup, I'm 37. Any RC that makes you smile is a great RC!

Replace the body and the tyres from the Zorro, perhaps slightly higher gearing cuz of the smaller tyres, then it should corner much better, roll over much less likely or even when it does, it'll land more often on it's tyres than on it's roof/side. Also it'll break less as a result of the things above. Those tyres on the outlaw are crawling tyres, ergo they are very sticky, grippy and soft so they aren't meant to handle that speed.
@TheRCScotsmanАй бұрын
While you are correct, the Zorro setup would lower CoG and reduce roll, I have to point out that: 1- smaller tyres give lower gearing, not higher, 2- I'm not looking for the trophy truck look, and 3- the foam inserts in the Zorro tyres are of such poor quality that they quickly degrade and break apart. This leads to the tyre wall no longer being supported, so they start tucking-under, during cornering. They're good for a while, but soon end up just as bad, or worse, than the Outlaw tyres. Not ideal! I'm not running the original Outlaw tyres. These are the Fastrax Granite 2.2 tyres and they are harder and less grippy, with stronger sidewalls, than the Outlaw tyres. Thanks, though! 👍
@brentnevius2849Ай бұрын
Diameter of the tires is the big difference, NOT actual traction! Throttle control will give the same results.

I bought one of these a few years ago and due to my lack of RC know how went with the stock motor and could not get over how slow it was. I was actually about to list it on ebay today, but you might have just encouraged me to get back into the hobby. I think I'll order a new motor for mine and slap some cool stickers on it!
@TheRCScotsmanАй бұрын
Keep it and tune it up! You won't regret it!
@roblowrie1969Ай бұрын
Such a beautiful place to go crawling. And so good not to hear that awful noise from the truck! I take it, since getting the right bush in there, you've had no further issues? 😎🤞🏻
@TheRCScotsmanАй бұрын
Thanks, Rob. Yeah, it's a cracking place. Plenty of challenge! correct, it's been faultless. However, I have heard talk of some people still wearing through bevel gears. It would still be best if Gmade produced hardened steel ones.

Thank you. Yeah, I do try to strike a balance between short videos and longer ones. I'd like to think I have a good number of both, but always open to constructive criticism. It's something I'll think over.

I have the original Mission S1, it has the slots for the saddle pack, be careful if you're running it outside, the ground clearance is really low and your bottom deck underside will look like mine, all scratched up, not to mention a stray stone getting in the slots and puncturing the battery, thankfully for me never happened 😬
@TheRCScotsman2 ай бұрын
Good information, thank you! The plan is to run it indoors, so that shouldn't be an issue. Cheers!

Just finished putting my Konghead together with a 3500kv traxxas set up. Did you have to glue your tires? I should probably just do that, but if your's stayed on, maybe mine will too lol
@TheRCScotsman2 ай бұрын
Yes, I glued them on, but not all the way round. Just spots every little while. Perfectly adequate for this type of thing.
@Hillbillypunk2 ай бұрын
@@TheRCScotsman just ran it for the first time, honestly I don't think I need any glue. Mine has a 3500 kv motor and it doesn't seem anywhere even close to flinging the tires off. What I did order today tho, was some foam inserts.
