Previously I learned from Korone that kinoko means mushroom. Today I learned that kinoko means kinoko and mushroom means mushroom, but kinoko does not simply mean mushroom. Arigathanks

4:46 To clear up something for my fellow gaijin, Japanese doesn't use the word "kinoko" the way we would use the word "mushroom" in English. For some strange reason, they've chosen to use the word "kinoko" for Japanese mushrooms, while your traditional-shaped, Mario type mushrooms get called "masshuruumu". Yes, explaining to them that "kinoko" are "mushrooms" is challenging.

5:27 from what i can tell its still the same person talking, so "that's true" is infact not correct. "thats what i am saying" is meant to tell the other person that they are repeating something that they stated in a previous scentece (that is not shown in the question) where the other person may not have understood. if its 2 people talking then they're both correct but they have different contextual meaning, the second one was their intention but they accidentally made it too ambiguous

I think the answer they chose in the mushroom question actually was incorrect, because it was in the same set of quotes, meaning the guy would have been saying "that's true" to his own statement.

It's a reference to the name of the river to the underworld in Greek Mythology. And I guess that's where the band got their name. Edit: There's a similar river in Buddhist (or Shinto or something) belief. Forgot the name tho.

As a kid, I was a huge mythology geek, so the concept of The River Styx is very deeply ingrained in my memory. _HOWEVER..._ I much prefer your idea! In my head, the pool is the size of one you might find at a waterpark and STYX is playing on a raft of some kind. Audience: "Fuck you!" STYX: "Alright. _WE'RE SAILING AWAY!!!!!_ " (Proceeds to use their guitars as paddles)

We can reproduce most of their phonemes from our own, but it's a lot harder for them because they grow up with hardly any exposure to ours
