** We have ordered the fuel to refill the summer fuel tanks because for some reason the fuel is going up! Oil isn't worth anything, but fuel is still going up. 🤷🏼‍♂️
** We probably should have baught a month or so go, but that's farming "buy high & sell low" 🤣

For many years our fuel delivery man was a man named Les. A lot like Allen, hard worker, faithful to his job. As years went by Les retired and eventually had to go to the nursing home. Slowly his mind began to fail and he would get up in the night, get dressed and tell the staff he had fuel he needed to deliver to the farmers. He lived into his late nineties. Wonderful man.

But somehow these professionals aren’t recognized on the same level as police - fire or military. The ships - The Trains or the Professional Truck Drivers are just as important and serve their country. But the police - fire or military won’t be were they are if it wasn’t for The Ships - The Trains or The Professional Truck Driver.

We maybe looking at things in context and through the perspective of our geographic ideology. That’s why we’re different. My whole point is, doesn’t matter what Industry or what profession your in. A patriot is a person who serves their country. A police men is as important as the farmers are to the communities they put food on their tables. We’re all here to serve. Just think of all the hands involved in you receiving that fuel delivery. Think bout the domino in fact it would have if you didn’t receive the load of fuel.

I’m in the auto body business, we use outside glass companies. My friend Dave was the best, he would always drop everything to come when we called him, sometimes a couple times a day. He got cancer and went from replacing glass on Monday to dead on Friday. A few hours before he died he tried to get up, he told his family “I’ve got to get to Americas, I’ve got shit to do” (Shop is named Americas). It’s been 20 years, we still talk about him all the time. 😥

Litre, US gallon, Imperial gallons, inches, metric tonnes... that is some unit soup you got yourselfs there lol. 35200 US gallons is 133246 litre, so 133 m³ . Both tanks together are 266 m³. Alan's hauls 50 m³ a trip. So you guys burn approx 10 of Alan's summer fuel loads a year. To put it in perspective: If google didn't lie to me a 150 seat A320 airplane consumes approx 2.7 m³ of fuel an hour. I know it is different fuel, but whatever, it means your tanks can keep an A320 about 100 hours in the air.

and how many planes fly around and how many cargo ships and how many government militaries think about the amount of fuel that used and they tell us we need to pay for them to become sustainable.... canan-daaaa just said carbon tax is legal and the us is getting rid of sale tax exemptions for farmers so that's a 5.5-11 percent tax hike.
@maik-beckmann
@maik-beckmann 3 жыл бұрын
@@Levo42691 Sorry in advance for the wall of text: I agree 100% that making farmers pay extra for unavoidable carbon emissions is just bad. The reason for a carbon tax is to give an incentive to use less carbon based fuel. Example: you can avoid flying to the Bahamas, hence a carbon tax makes sense. But today, and in years to come, you cannot avoid the use those 100 A320 flight hours worth of Diesel to farm the soil Mike and his family farms. The only way to use less fuel is to not farm soil. Which doubly doesn't make sense, because we want people to eat less meat to reduce Methane emissions. Long term there might be alternatives to Diesel, like hydrogen (in a safe way, tyvm), but that is wayyy into the future. If that is on the market, then putting a tax on farm Diesel starts making sense. But lets be honest with ourselfs. The real reason is that we start with a good idea, like the carbon tax, and then it goes wrong. There are a lot of farmers and i.e. only one Amazon. Hence farmers, and other middle class people, need to pay the taxes that Amazon doesn't. I stop here because I don't want to ruin my and your day any further. Have a good one.
