Noteworthy features of this fugue:
→ the piece starts and ends in b-minor, but it has a large section in b♭-minor, hence the title
→ this section starts in bar 38 (1:36), which marks the end of the shorter side of the golden ratio
→ the end of the larger section of the golden ratio falls in bar 62 (2:36) and coincides with the introduction of the inverted subject, which is alluded to in the preceding episode
→ the first three episodes (starting at 0:48, 1:24, and 2:20) feature variations on the head of the subject; the last episode (3:14) contains the whole subject in augmentation, with the inverted head of the subject interspersed
→ while my previous fugues always have a dedicated stretto section towards the end, in this fugue, stretti occur throughout the middle entries

Don't know why but the exposition evoked Shostakovitch for me. Great work!

Thank you! ^^ Interesting, I did listen to his 24 preludes and fugues two years ago, perhaps I was a bit inspired by them, subconsciously.

Very nice mix of Musikalisches Opfer, Shostakovich string quartets and Olivier Messiaen.

Very nice one! For me, it has something both playful and menacing. A bit like a lion cub or sum.

People have often said this about my old pieces, but seldom about my fugues. Thank you for sharing your impression, very interesting! ^^

@@averynhiell It's rather portamento than glissando.
