You can't always get things right. Its good to show what you think you did wrong, as others can then learn too. So, don't beat yourself up over it Deryn. I am still making mistakes with my photography but as I see it, its not heart surgery so the odd mistake is ok. For me, I like them shots.

You don’t need to set the ND filter to a dedicated button. If you pull the EVF/OVF lever to the right and hold it, the ND filter comes on. If you do the same again it switches it off. I liked this video, my favourite picture was the woman walking across the pedestrian crossing near the railway station in black-and-white. Well done Deryn !

You’re right about that! But I do assign the ND filter on a function button simply because doing it with the front lever takes longer. With the button it switches on instantly!

I love that you put the before and after editing! Not every video has to be super cheery. It was nice to see that even experienced people make silly setting mistakes. Overall I still thought it was quite a positive video because of the focus on learning and that's how I think photography should be! Always learning. at 7:53 I really like that there is a faint outline of a bird right in front of the bright sun!

Really enjoy your pov vlogs Deryn, how about doing one completely in Black and White? Perhaps using the Acros simulation on the x100v, glad you show your what you think are your "errors", we are all still learning 😁

Every time you mention me, I’m like “oh that’s me!” The built in ND is so handy, I wish more cameras had it. Lol great video, harsh light can be fun shoot in.

I think you were too hard on yourself in this video. There were some good images and at the end of the day it’s all good learning. I know of a few photographers do this but do you “warm up” and use the first 40-50 shots just to get your eye in and regain confidence out on the street? Those first shots therefore you accept as a bit of a write off but it also gives you the opportunity to experiment with settings etc
@deryncorbett

Hey! Thank you. I usually do a little warmup yeah, I didn’t so much on this outing as I had limited time. Defintiely important for regaining confidence like you said. Thank you for watching 😁
