i am going to sell ver one and will go to sigma one later. 2 reasons: IBIS is no longer a must for me and I cannot stand with the poor concern image quality

I have this lens! Mostly for photo but good to know it does well in video as well. I pair it with the 33/1.4

I've had the 10-24 since the WR version was first released --- over 2 years ago. I shoot mostly travel and landscape, and it forms a core part of the "trinity" I take on most ventures --- the others being the 16-80 (my default/walk-around lens) and the 70-300. They complement each other perfectly. I initially used them on my X-S10, but I've been using them on my X-H2 since it was released. The 10-24 (and 16-80) are not merely "compatible" with the 40mp sensor, but in my experience provide considerably better results on the 40mp than on the 26mp sensor. The f4 is perfectly adequate for shooting in a reasonable amount of light or when shooting on a tripod. But is a bit too slow for my taste for shooting astro and night-time street --- so I have complemented my zooms with a set of f1.4 primes (13, 23 & 33) that I rely on in such "niche" shoots.

If you want to shoot astro then you definitely made the right choice by getting the f1.4 set. This lens can do a lot but low light is not what it is made for. I also definitely see an increase quality from the 10-24 on the X-T5 (I have read somewhere that they estimate it to be able to resolve around 30MP or so, but I did not see a method or sources so I did not talk about it) Thank you for watching

Thanks Thierry. Nice, concise review 👍. I’m going for one as I find the 16-80 a bit limiting for the big landscapes here in Scotland. I have to admit that I’m struggling to quantify exactly what the inability to resolve the 40.1 megapixels on my X-T5 actually means. Perhaps the final image is a wee bit smaller? I dunno, but providing I’m happy to print at A3 or even A2, I’ll be fine. Salut.

Great video! IMO the XF8-16 is the way to go, but naturally the 10-24 is way lighter and more friendly for travel. But I enjoyed seeing your opinions on the lens.

Thank you for watching. I think that the 8-16 is a bit more niche, especially for the size, weight and price. But definitely a good lens.

Agree. A friend let me borrow both the 8-16 and the 10-24 for a few weeks. In the end I just had to buy the 8-16. The 10-24 is good at 24mm f8 while the 8-16 is amazing even at 8mm f2.8.

Hi!Thank you for making good movies on KZfaq all the time! I own the old xf10-24.I love this lens.And Old one has IS switch,It's very convinient for me to use Trypod. Someone say"xf10-24 is IMAGE QUALYTY is not good,soft!" Yeah! Sometimes i thoght "yes"But we can control that by aperture. I always think "this lens enough IMAGE QUALYTY". But now are TAMRON11-20f2.8 coming…I usualy use still picture more than video.and not much take at low light.So maybe not change… How do you think about the tamron11-20"f2.8" ? Is brighter than f4 for sure.But tamron is much advantage with xf10-24? Do you think to change?

I haven’t really thought about changing this lens. It does everything I need it to be, the image quality is mote than enough for me so I don’t think I will be changing soon. The only advantage i can see the tamron is low light but I already have other lenses for that so I won’t be purchasing it. Thank you for watching
