I had the XH2s on release, liked the camera and the fuji ecosystem. I sold it and went GFX 100S. I just recently sold my GFX and started shooting with an Canon R3. I love the autofocus out of the canon, the system is just HUGE (when RF glass is added). I have been debating going back to the XH2s. Do you feel that the autofocus has gotten worse since the release of the XH2s?
@ThierryGibralta3 күн бұрын
The AF of the previous firmware was an exception. Yes it did make things worse but it does not mean that it keeps getting worse. There are definitely improvements that I notice while shooting more with it

which lens is better in macro ? 70- 300 mm fujifilm or fuji 16-50 mm ?

Both are not made for that. But I would assume 16-50

the size I think not that much noticeable difference, for me I had x100vi is very compact but hard to handle and grip then I had to buy accessory adding the grip turn out made it bigger anyway and heavier but still smaller battery. also even the body is smaller the lens always bigger so it still not a pocketable camera. like GRiiix. I would prefer xt5 oven tx50. and I think the WR is very important, if you buying all those new lens with WR and the body doesn't has it , it doesn't make sense, and you actually wasted money on WR lens in the future as you paid for it but not able to use it.

I wonder you put new 23 f1.4 and f2 on the same tier 😅 I've just moved to Fujifilm recently, and got 18 f1.4 and 33 f1.4 (happy to see them on S tier) For lighter day, I'm researching between 23 f2 or 27 f2.8 (can't decided yet)

Purely because of the focal, just not a huge fan of it but yeah maybe it deserves an S tier

I am no expert, but a shutter speed of 125 would seem too slow to not blur if someone is walking. Also, 1.4 is a tiny DOF to expect for face focus.
@jrperezphotography6 күн бұрын
Agree the shutter speed needs to be closer to 500 for subject walking towards camera.
@blueaquilaeКүн бұрын
1.4 is low only for Fuji that's the point. Others brands will catch it.

I went to an arboretum the other day to photograph flowers. I had the X-T5 in AF-S mode since I didn’t have a moving subject. The camera would not focus properly within the AF box. What the heck, the latest firmware update now has compromised shooting of still photography. It’s the first time I’ve had a problem with the X-T5 having focusing issues in AF-S mode. These weren’t even “false positives” images. The camera’s autofocus wouldn’t even give me a green box AF confirmation when focusing on a single, subject flower. I noticed that my focusing box was placed directly on the flower while the camera focused on the background space. Recomposing the scene and half pressing the focusing/shutter release button did not help.
@fbottone6 күн бұрын
not within minimum focus distance maybe?
@williambooth12536 күн бұрын
Negative. I was well within the minimum focusing distance. It felt like the camera wasn’t even trying to acquire focus from the green focusing box. Soon after, my camera completely froze with a black out screen. I took out the battery to reset camera. Focusing seemed OK after that. I suspecting bugs in the new update.

I recently tried to put the XF 150-600 through its paces by shooting some vultures (almost 3 meters wide, not exactly small targets), I think the AF hit rate was below 10%. At this point you really wonder why they even bother selling wildlife lenses. It was before the firmware update though. I’ll give it another try soon, but it really made me consider switching to another brand.

Not even close to a A6400 🤦🏾 Single point focus is your best friend on Fujifilm and if that's ok with you then you'll be fine. And if that's the way you're going arguably it's best to buy one of the older bodies and spend your money on glass. It isn't worth buying the newer bodies until Fujifilm has sorted their continuous autofocus, you would just be buying half the functionality of a device at full price.
@matthewchute55147 күн бұрын
Interesting to read these comments. I shoot headshots multiple times a month with XH2 on AF-C and my hit rate is high. Maybe 3 out of 600 shots are out of focus. And I alternate between 56mm and 33mm.
@ThierryGibralta7 күн бұрын
I am also surprised by the comments 😮 Did not make this to hate on the system but it seems like a lot of people do. I still can do good work with Fuji in my portrait sessions as well, definitely not as high hit rates as I shoot outside but not as bad as what I read.
@MisAnkic7 күн бұрын
@@ThierryGibralta Most of the people who seem to be haters are not. In fact they don’t want to switch to any other system. This is about Fuji ignorance and silence about evident issues with their AFC. This is not acceptable at all and that makes people sometimes overreacting but Fuji deserves it.
@georgedres79147 күн бұрын
why would you buy a new fuji knowing that they have never ever got the autofocus sorted. this pipe dream of firmware fixes belies how their false marketing and reliance of our fondness of their color science is effective in convincing people a fix is just around the corner. fuji - your camera bodies, build quality and colors are great but your autofocus is the worst of any major camera manufacturer and you should give everyone back their money. just blatant lying and untrustworthy utube reviews. testing one in a camera store means nothing - all the tracking and hits are mostly false so unless you checkout your memory card at home DONT get sucked in

Indeed… also because some of these “reviewers” are totally clueless as to how Fuji af works, in conjunction with subject detection, and setting the camera on full manual… potentially (likely) choking it on trying to expose for the detected eye/face, because they are ablivious to the fact, stated very clearly in the Fuji manuals, that exposure on face and eye detection is set to expose the subject correctly…

The problem with fuji is that their AF "updates" are always lack-luster or minimal improvement at best. They still always seem to be three steps behind everyone else, there is always some settings gymnastics you gotta do to get a decent results. How Fuji can never get this right is astounding to me, heck even Nikon quickly surpassed fuji's AF in less time.
@MisAnkic7 күн бұрын
They will never fix very bad afc. What is funny, they tried with previous and many other fws in past, but it brought a lot of issues, so they just rolled it back and that’s it. It is broken from beginning!

I watched a video from @Iamtongue where he testet the FWU 1.0 to 2.01 for the X-T5 and the FWU 3.0 to 5.01 on the X-H2s it look pretty pretty nice to me equal to some Canons/Sonys/Nikons. At some point they brought in some issues wich they need to fix and they will do that. This update fixed some issues for sure... but they have to do more.
