Sir, should we have some money with us beforehand. If I can't afford it, is it possible to apply? Will they fund all without us preparing anything for the monetary part? Im talking on the Fulbright Nehru Doctoral fellowship

Well they do provide for air far but you may need some money to manage for the first few days in usa. I don’t recall exactly when they deposit your first paycheck in the bank. But of course you have to start the bank account after coming to the us. So a few hundred dollars and an international credit card may be needed for the first couple of weeks.

Hello Sir, Is it necessary to attach the letter of acceptance of PI from the host institute in the USA in the application form of the Fulbright Nehru Postdoctoral Fellowship programme as an additional document?

Yes a letter from a professor will greatly strengthen your case. The task of finding a host is quite onerous and so once this is done the committee knows that there is someone in your domain who is willing to provide office space and guide you.

Well Fulbright is a long process. You should check out the Fulbright policies and procedures in your own country. You can find these through Google search and also in the us embassy web page or help line in your country.

You should first get a yes from the likely host professor before you choose the host institute. This needs many emails on your part and a good resume along with a professor who sees benefit from your visit and is globally inclined. What is the fellowship amount one gets in Fulbright nehru post doc fellowship ?

I think it is around 2500 usd per month but you can ask the Fulbright people for the right amount.

You have to find professors in your research area and write email to them to be a prospective host for the postdoc. If they agree, you can give their name in the application.
