At the end of the video the professor mentioned that "this is my take" However, I don't really think that you offered a point of view in this video. It seems like a description of the various Asian groups and what description that they *may* face if he had opinionated it by saying "i think this is bad and we should look at everyone without any racial bias or ethnic bias", then I would agree that it would be considered as a "take"

your "race" cannot really be proved. What if I just choose to identify as "black" to get those privileges? But the supreme court overturned affirmative action in the Harvard v Asian Americans for Fair Admissions
@Drganguli4 күн бұрын
Yes unfortunately affirmative action was supposed to help disadvantaged groups but it also hurts other groups who are supposed to be advantaged but are not. And lower income people get hurt. While affirmative action is removed as a direct criteria, it can be used through essays which mention the students hardships due to their background. In fact this was mentioned by one of the judges. Otherwise, Asians may get 80 percent on the college seats if only standardised tests and GPA are considered. Now that would also cause problems in society as you may not want a caste system to develop like in India with all the negative consequences
@JingJao4 күн бұрын
@@Drganguli Good point! I would just like your thoughts on why giving 80% of seats to Asians is a disadvantage? If we are truly producing the best doctors, best engineers, and best scientists, I don't see the issue. I think it is nice to have Asians if Asian people are performing the best. I want my heart surgeon to be the best qualified person, not a diversity candidate. I don't really understand the argument on a caste system. I really do think the constitution was right and everyone is equal. We should try and look beyond race and just get the best people.
