The story of Adansi was not told well, Adansi is a twin, Odumasi and Formena. Odumasi is Paninn and Formena is Kakara. That is what I have been told since childhood.

The Akans are twelve tribes having common tradition, custom etc Each tribe is considered as a state. They're Adansi, Denkyira, Wassa, Nsema, Sewhi, Akwuapim ,Akwamu, Bono, Ahanta, Awowin, Fanti, Assin.(know that Asanti, Akyem, Kwawu are not tribes) Originally ,they all belong to the Adansi tribe. Moreover, Asanti as a war group are from the Adansi state as a tribe. There's also enough evidence to prove that, the Denkyira state never conquered the Adansi state in a war.The Denkyira' Kingdom ' is therefore a marriage or a fallacy created by imagination and distortion by oral tradition. Every member from the twelve tribes, belongs to one of the eight clans of the Akan nation , with their clan rulers in Adansi . The Portuguese established their mining camp Aban-kesieso near Essumegya controlled by the armed men recruited from the Denkyira state. The recruits were so wicked ,arresting men into force labour ,which started the exodus of clans to escape to build Akyem Abuakwa, Offinso, Mampong, Kumawu, Nsuta.Kwaman, Edweso, Beposo, Kokofu Dwaben etc. After nearly 200 yrs of Portuguese domination that Nana Osei Tutu 1 returned from Akwamu with 300 armed soldiers to form the ASA - NTI Armed forces ( chiefs )War leaders to liberate Adansiman from the Portuguese/ Denkyira militia force at Abankesieso where the miltia leader Nana Ntim Gyakari was captured and beheaded at Fehyiase.The role played by the recruits from the Denkyira state is what is erroneously referred to as the Denkyira kingdom.

There are three areas that need clarification. 1. Your story claims that the Asantis originated from Adansi. How do you square that with the history of the original Adansi settlers passing through Amoafo (near present day Bekwai) before reaching Adansi? Towns like Amoafo, Kokofu, Adankragwa all predate Adansiman and yet your story reverses that history. Why? 2. The founding chiefs of Adansiman, according to your history, seem to pass successions from father to son(patrilineal inheritance) which is not the Asante system. How come? 3. Around the time of Nana Yaa Asantewaah, the British asked for a regent of the Adansihene to stay at Cape Coast under the then governor’s control. The royal family of Adansi sent a representative who was not a real regent but was forced on Adansi by the British when the Adansihene died. How does that inform you current narrative?
