Unique solution to automation. Looks like the bed is hitting the switch PCB before the switch is triggered, or its over traveling. Interesting idea with good implementation.

It was slightly over traveling when I shot the video. I just moved the bed up slightly. Thank you

This is awesome! Would be concerned about that vacuum hose maybe getting snagged on the door hook. Also if printed part doesn’t have a flat top surface to grab, maybe could rotate the sucker to grab the side of the part? Could also open the door this way? There’s some mqtt automations you can set up that Bambu supports , it may be possible that way to send a batch of print jobs.

I am looking to redesign the vacuum end so the hose goes straight up the 3D printed part.

You can add an air pump... 1st The robot opens the door, 2nd An air nozzle drops air into the heated bed to cool down quickly in order to remove the spare fast so you don't lose almost tons of heat of the chamber, using an air pump that activates after the robot opens the door, 3rd the robot takes out the piece and drops anywhere and finally closes the door and the print will start again. Greetings from Spain

Skip some steps for the arm and add an actuator on the door that opens when the switch in the printer gets triggered. And as it looks like it's active until you start it again it can just close when the bed goes up.
@MartinoDesign99
@MartinoDesign99 Жыл бұрын
That would definitely work and help with build plate cooling.
@joshuahuman1

I would agree with you if this was an expensive cnc with a 5 min cycle time but I think that would be kinda overkill the robot moves themselves probably only take up 1% of the cycle time if not less no reason to add in additional points of failure. Maybe at most add a bracket that holds the door in a definite position possibly using a magnet to make sure the door doesn’t swing into an unknown position.
@pieebobeg
@pieebobeg Жыл бұрын
@@joshuahuman1 a robotic arm to unload a print is also a bit overcomplicated in that regard, automated print farms already exists and use the head to push the print of the bed. Now this wouldn't really work with the front of the bambu head held on by magnets. But it would be easier to have linear actuator at the back of the machine pushing the prints out instead of lifting it out. So we can agree to disagree about the automated door 😊 (And as a safety feature to stop the arm from smashing through a closed door the end stop of the door could be the trigger for the arm)

3dQue is coming out with formatt. You dont need a machine to do it, the print head will know off a print, this is simple code put into start gcode.

This is a fun project! I’m thinking of ways to automate my P1P that will be admittedly lower budget ha ha Maybe if you have the arm open the door before that eight minute wait you could reduce the time as the chamber would cool faster with an open door? (Assuming you are not printing with any hazardous filaments that need filtration)
@MartinoDesign99
@MartinoDesign99 Жыл бұрын
The open door is a great idea. I can just move the 8 minute waiting period! I am planning to do a future build that is a DIY robot not a purchased robot.

Bambu lab also had integration with home assist. Can you use the data or signal instead of the extra senso below the printbed? And as mentioned some already, stand alone actuator of some sort for the door opening. any way cool programminh of the robot arm

crazy automation. You removed the prime /purge lines? Can you tell me where it was in the code? isnt just pushing by the printhead working good enough if the bed is cool? (and you got a decent object, not just a coin)
@MartinoDesign99
@MartinoDesign99 Жыл бұрын
I attach my part to the coin so the part can be lifted out. I do have some parts that are low profile so I am not sure they will push out okay.

I’m not at a spot I can fully watch/listen to the video so sorry if he answers this. How does he deal with the purge lines?
@theodoreburns1330
@theodoreburns1330 Жыл бұрын
He edits the G code so it doesn’t do a purge line. Which should be fine, Particularly if the first piece printed is that sacrificial oval.
@Xploit66
@Xploit66 Жыл бұрын
@@theodoreburns1330 ah that makes sense. I knew you could remove the purge but the idea of printing a sacrificial piece the robot can grab is a good one. I would love to automate my printer. I’m constantly driving to my office on weekends to swap prints so there isn’t too much down time.
