By far the best elite cure tuning video on KZfaq by long shot. Starts off perfectly with the natural background, you don't talk slow and that means a lot to me. Perfect close-ups of the bow. The lighting inside was decent and you actually show the bow. You avoid superflous information and mention things not to do. No bible verses. Sean's outdoors needs to take a page from you. Thank you, for real. Quality bow content like this is rare

Never used it for hunting or anything else, he put it up for sale about a week ago with all accessories. And it locks on the target without a stab!!! I was blown away. No Shimming the Axles,shot bullet holes with two minor arrow rest adjustments.Never had a bow do this before usually falls forward esp.on my older Mathews bows they were top heavy.I love this bow!!! Shoots in the Same hole shot after shot. And whisper quiet without limbsavers.2019 Elite R35👍👍

I gave up paper tuning and scent control years ago and could not be happier. I simply hunt the wind now. When I set up a new bow I start from center shot and finish with a walk back tune. I couldn’t care less what my arrow is doing three feet in front of my bow. I have yet to hear a valid argument for paper tuning. Archery nerds are way over complicating archery with FOC, paper tuning and on and on. Archery is supposed to be simplicity at it’s finest. A simple stick and string.

Those cams are actually symmetrical. It's just the bottom cam has some material shaved off where the string comes off it. As you can see from the top cam where the string comes off it, the string doesn't even go into the cam track. That's what they shaved off from the bottom cam. They could have easily taken the same part off the top cam. I'm guessing they took off the material from the bottom cam so that it's lighter and will whip around just a bit faster than the top. Back in the day, Elite had the problem of tuning about 3/8" nock high. Lord knows I've had to flip limbs top to bottom in order to get the bow to tune with the arrow level.

Have a question hoping you could answer. Do the limb tip inserts have a function other than as a mounting for the pad for the limb stops? Just curious since they’re on both sides.
@averagejackarchery
@averagejackarchery 3 жыл бұрын
Yes! One, as you mentioned, allows for the limb pad to be installed on either limb, so the limbs could be used for either a left or right handed bow. But more importantly, and used nearly universally across the industry, it's used to hold the limb tip under compression so it doesn't split under pressure from shooting and the axle.

Thanks for the good review. Maybe I missed it, but did you find the bow's draw length long compared to what it read on the cam setting? I shot one of these the other day set at 30" draw and 90% let off. I have been shooting 30" draw for years and also measured my other bows on a draw board (so I know what it feels like). The Elite Kure set on 30" at the cam was at least 1 inch longer than 30".
@averagejackarchery
@averagejackarchery 3 жыл бұрын
In the manual on all the bow pages, at the bottom they have the note that all draw lengths and speeds are measured at 80% letoff. 90% letoff adds 1/2" to the draw length. Mine I have set up with that extra bit and a little more and I come in at 30.75" draw.
@MrShysterme
@MrShysterme 3 жыл бұрын
@@averagejackarchery Thanks. I now also recall that the bow I shot was turned down in draw weight from its max to get 59 lbs they told me, which would also increase draw length on top of the 90% let off. If I bought one, it would be 60 lbs max and would be maxed out.

@averagejackarchery

Bottom edge of arrow lines up with bottom edge of berger hole. The Berger is basically the same diameter as a .244/5/6 arrow. So if it's fully covered, I'm basically in the right spot. I've never seen a manufacturer recommend otherwise and until they do that's what I'm sticking with! 🤷

My current set up is 60lbs draw weight, 27 inch draw length, using a 400 spine arrow and 100 grain tips. This is the 3rd bow i used this set up with ( 1 bow was 65 lbs draw weight ) everything worked well. I was getting a major right tear with the KURE. I would have tear, move SET, bullet hole, tear tear move SET, bullet hole. This happened for an hour and 3 of us couldnt figure it out. Out of curiosity my buddy gave me one of his arrows to shoot. A 350 spine with 100 grain tip in a more expensive arrow.. perfect bullet hole 10 of 10 shots. Now, the arrows he gave me in 350 spine were fat shaft tournament arrows and my 400s were normal shaft hunting arrows, not sure if that makes a difference. Using the arrow charts, i am using the right set up, but the bow doesnt like the 400 spine. We changed the 100gr tip for 85s in my 400s and was more consistent with the bullet holes but once in 5 shots would still get a rip.

Would you chose the Kure over the bowtech carbon zion?

It's not even a competition. Kure hands down. But it's not a fair comparison as those bows aren't fighting for the same style of customer base.

All really depends on what you want, there! Really a HUGE preference between the two based on shooter feel alone. Excellent options from either company.

I think people over think and put too much stock on bullet hole tunes. If I tune my bow to give me bullet holes. It's so out of wack for actual multi range shooting, I may as well use the bow as a hammer. But hey it shoots bullet holes. It's just no good for anything else). For my sanity... All I tune out is high/low tears. Then I walk back tune. When that is all done.... Set your site for distance marks. Never for your own sanity after all this, do a paper tune check.... It doesn't matter.

@@Firebutton I go full throttle 90% setting. But with my insane draw lengths, the cam only gets max 85% at those spots. Mt Kure gets 82% and it's a dream on the back end.

Since Hoyt lost all their star shooters. Hope Hoyt wise up and sponsor you, instead of trying to do the lifeblood vids which got like 100 views and no one interested in, despite the decent production value.

They lost a lot of their compound folks due to Mathews paying more. No one pays me anything so I doubt they'll be chasing after me anytime soon. LOL
