With all the hype surrounding the Bronco’s revival by Ford, Music City Trucks felt it was the ideal time to honor its heritage by building a classic of their own. With Sea Foam as a sponsor, the 1974 Bronco will undergo extensive upgrades to restore the truck and take a modern approach on a classic rig.
The objective is to overhaul the Sea Foam Bronco from the ground up and rebuild it all by adding an array of new parts. The upgrades include a new chassis from Throttle Down Kustoms, supercharged Edelbrock Coyote crate engine, transfer case, axles, James Duff suspension, fuel system, sheet metal from Dennis Carpenter, and overhaul the interior with custom parts from TMI.
This Beach Cruiser Bronco is bound to turn heads as it cruises effortlessly down the street with its entirely updated undercarriage and body transformation. It will be a piece of restored history that lives on inspiring others to build projects to replicate its success.

I can’t begin to tell everyone what a great cause this is. There is so many veterans and first responders living on the streets. I don’t believe people realize what they are going through. Some of them with their entire family, even little kids, are living on the street. If there is any charity worth giving to, this is one of the top.

I used to watch these shows with my father when i wae a teenager. You get one episode on a Sunday and had to wait a week for the next. Always missing one or so lol. I wish he was still alive to witness the entire series with no commercials lol.

I was thinking the same thing. I loved a Sunday sitting on the couch with my dad watching the power block. He passed in 2020, wish he was still here we could sit and watch all the episodes for one build in one sitting.

My first vehicle was my parent's 1983 Bronco that they purchased new. I was given it when I turned 16 in '92. Loved that truck with it's lethargic 351 WIndsor.

Can it really be called a restoration if you got all new stuff? I’m just wondering what the point of pulling apart the other one was 😅 Y’all should get the other one and use it as a “build on a budget” off-road rig. I really enjoy these full build videos, keep them coming!

I think the scope just crept out of control so the body and chassis were no longer used.

I agree. I think the term restoration was used very liberally and is kind of misleading. It's a real shame to see how little of the "original" Bronco was actually used in the new build. I think the vehicle turned out amazing nonetheless and was auctioned off for a very good cause. But again, sad to see how little was actually "restored" not replaced.

A modern Bronco interior would have been very cool on this build, giving it a modern interior with the modern exterior. They went the right direction with the engine option without a doubt. It’s what ford should have offered in the new Bronco. I would also utilized a Marine grade boat deck flooring by SeaDek with the custom logos and Bronco logos added to them for the flooring. I’m curious though! If they went this far to make everything so nice, why didn’t they loom all the wire under the dash and under the body? Why didn’t they utilize LED lights? Especially if they keep calling it modern!

I love the Coyote motor, and I'm glad they kept with Ford. That being said, you can see why LS motors are a popular swap for Broncos and Jeeps. The coyote's dual overhead cams take up a lot of real estate. You can get similar supercharged horsepower out of an LS, with more torque. And they likely wouldn't have had to slice anything to make one fit.

I remember the international scout I had one with the 345 V8, 390 lockers front(!)and rear, and that Granny low gear 4 speed. I love that truck. Lima bean green, I remember I took the roof off and the doors wouldn't open and close no more, LOL. Nothing could beat that thing in the mud with that front Locker. I never saw nothing like it you couldn't turn the truck at all not even in the mud, it was almost impossible to steer when the front was locked. But it would go through shit that my buddies trucks on 38th couldn't even touch, and I was on some old ass white wall tires!!! I won so many Bets with that truck in the woods, I miss that thing. Best truck ever. 🚜💯💯💯💯💯

Love your sarcasm. I feel exactly the same way. I'll give only one example as there are so many more examples to give: Near the end of the Video at SEMA, the Directing Manager from Sonax stating that his company put in 250 man hours for the polishing of the paint on the Bronco. This is an astonishing amount of material and labor invested and is likely one of the smallest contributions. I'm sure that everyone and all the companies contributing to this Bronco did it for charitable reasons. A.K.A.: All parts, materials and labor were likely donated. We all know that it was for a good cause and I don't want to seem too antagonistic... Yet, it all seems like such a waste considering that $135,000.00 final bid. And at the same time, I feel like $135,000.00 was way too much for this Bronco. Next time they try to do a good deed, they need to set up a fund raiser. The fund raiser would better serve the charitable purpose without the extreme waste.

lol a couple thousand bucks for what exactly ??? the paint material cost more than that , labor would be another 5-7 grand for body and paint , there's 20-25 grand in body panels, 30 grand in drive train , 20-25 in chassis and axles another ten in suspension... never mind all the other little stuff probably adds up to another twenty ... then labor for all the other work , fitting the engine building the suspension interior etc etc etc ... so which part do you think would've only cost a couple grand ??? the wheels and tires??

A while back, I had the opportunity to get a garage full of old Ford parts, including a bunch for the 1st Gen bronco. I needed my garage space back so I had to take a bunch of stuff to the salvage yard. I did however save the parts I knew were bronco parts and some that I'm not sure about. Please don't hate, I'm not a ford guy I just didn't want to see good original parts go to waste. I have things like a 289/302 with transmission and transfer case, roll bar, spare tire holder, radio, dash, rear seat and a bunch of small misc. items. If anyone would like them and is near Iowa, I will give youva hell of a deal. I'm not worried about getting a lot of money for these parts, but I will ask if you could send me some photos of the build in process and completed. I brought these parts home so they wouldn't end up in a scrap yard and hopefully make their way to a good home.

When all the original parts are taken away it just doesn't feel the same. I know this is TV and they have a schedule, but try and find a project that will use mostly original stuff. It gives the feeling of breathing new life into something that is nearly 50 years old versus building a kit car.

My dad bought an International Scout a couple of years before the Bronco came out. I was a small child and remember it fondly. He was a Ford guy and ever since wanted the Bronco. He finally got his Bronco when he bought a slightly used 1978 full size. In between he had a Chevy pickup. He owned the full size Ranger model Bronco for only a couple of years, it's not-so-good MPG and his daily commute made him sell it for a small four-cylinder diesel pickup which was new for the era. He drove that until it rusted into the ground after he retired and quit driving daily. I got the 4x4 bug and have owned a 86 Bronco2, which I still miss, two CJ Jeeps and a rusty 74 Bronco that I traded for a 94 Ranger pickup because marriage, kids, MPG/long commute, etc. I never realized just how much I repeated his vehicle ownership path.

In 1966 l was nine years old..... .......and one day my grandparents and l went to the Ford dealership. I rememeber all the "66" symbols on the big walls & windows. My grandparents were from the Great Depression & WWII ERA...SO FRUGALITY WAS JUST PART OF THEIR DIGNIFIED & POLITE MANNERISMS. Eventually l realized they were. ACTUALLY BUYING SOMETHING!!! ((( THIS WAS A BIG DAY!!! ))). 😅 PAPA ended up getting the ORIGINAL BRONCO......just like the one pictured here in your video: deep aqua color....WHITE TRIM HERE & THERE.....ALL very bright & pretty to my little nine year old girl 's heart.. I suspected that the aqua colour was not PaPa's favorite hue for his manly-man lifestyle....but he and my grandmother were THE ROMANCE OF THE CENTURY: RIGHT SNAP-DAB IN OUR HOUSE!!! 💕.....and we all went home in the aqua Bronco. (I do suspect that Nana got her color choice for the new truck....BUT IT SEEMED TO ME SHE HAD SOFTENED HIM UP A BIT BY PROMISING HIM A NEW ALUMINUM FISHING BOAT. A DEAL IS A DEAL.....so we parked the Bronco in the driveway.... ate dinner....and over the course of the early evening every grown- up & teenage boy all showed up to see this new Ford. Many is the trip l took to camp or bird hunting with my PaPa......oh how l loved him !!!! It was a wonderful time to grow up in the USA.....WITH AN ENTIRE GENERATION OF WONDERFUL GROWN-UPS ALL AROUND US. SUCH MEMORIES. 😊...... ......ALL FROM JUST A GLIMPSE OF THAT LITTLE AQUA 1966 BRONCO. .

@@1badapplepie And the aftermarket manufacturers make their crap extremely cheap, yet charge an inflated price. Because they know these fantasy rebuild shows will pay $$$$$$ for their cheaply designed garbage and never have to deal with part failure warranties as soon as the owner picks it up.

@@decibelinterference2033 Taillight warranties are the best (if you’re the vendor). Once I can no longer see your taillight, the warranty has expired :) The same undesirable evolution has happened in vintage motorcycle restorations. I’ve no idea how many great bikes of Japan were imported into USA, but fully 30 years since the very idea of restoring the bikes we’d had as teenagers in the 1970s began, there’s still a continuous flow of overpriced joy & junk flowing into UK at all times. For example the Suzuki & Kawasaki two stroke triples (the larger the displacement the better) are changing hands after show pony resto standards at upwards of £15-20,000. Just 10-15 years ago, you could still get real bargains like a few hundred unrestored, non runners with a few parts missing. That was genuinely fun, finding parts was analogue and slow. Now it’s chequebook restorations & while I’m grateful that all the skilled guys are out there, the romance is all but gone. I imagine some similar trends happened in other fields? I still say do it and cherish the old analogue engineering! Nobody is going to lust over a dented & sorry Audi RS6 in 25 years. One software change too many & the lunatic self appointed global elites will have banned private vehicle ownership. Unless they’re stopped by The Great Resist :)

Can’t expect too much from a semi scripted television show. It’s for sure a kit car, only thing that would have made it a restonmod is reusing the frame.

My dad had a Red and white sport with chrome, 32's, roll bars, push button start, locking hubs. We ran that all over the Oregon coast. Think it was a 69. Would love to have one like it.

Sounds excellent, mostly because you’ve honoured your dads memory (and maybe teed into yours?) with your post. Remembering times with my kids and grandchildren Trump everything other than meeting my wife and owning motorcycles of the golden era (1970s Japanese: they were the essential backdrop to the punk & new wave revolution we enjoyed). Sounds like a great vehicle & parent too? :)

This thing is so sick.. fantastic video.. I mean.. good GAWD it’s SWEET! A dream car.. like it was just manufactured (cause it was).. don’t you wish ford just built these instead of the new ugly over expensive broncos when they came back with them? I mean.. yeah it has no airbags but if you’re gonna die.. die driving this!

Thank you guys for showing what a real Bronco is, not this new garbage. You see that fellas? Straight axles! You know, one of the major reasons the early Bronco was considered capable offroad. Owners of the new Broncos are like "where's the purse holder?" and "where's the lifetime Starbucks parking permit?" Lol.
