He is creating a movement that will wake up Americans and make them realize what they can be, what they can have, that they are not merely economic inputs but living being with their own humanistic values, and that will reshape America and maybe even the world. He has already won in that sense; but the question is, are we going to win by electing him so he can finish that very important job or will we let another candidate to have another "business as usual" years and let the AI kick our behind?

Fully agree. I am born 83. So when i became an adult and got more interested in global affairs it was around 2001 when the USA transformed (in my view) to a selfish and hostile factor on the global stage. This was driven by various factors but mostly by reckless policies riding patriotism, but actually serving a sick financial and military system owned by a careless minority. Since then the USA has unleashed various wars grounded on lies and against common sense and humanity. I do hope that Trump is the peak of madness to open the eyes of you guys over there. Because if America is just powerfull but does not act like a reasonable state, who else will? How can you expect anyone else to act reaonable? You want to be the leading country in the world, infact you are the most influencial country the world has seen, so it is up to you be reasonable and accountable for others to follow.
@bmizz1384 жыл бұрын
Mad Rooky thx homie. It’s heart-warming to hear how understanding you are. Most American people are extremely fun and friendly. We’re truly nothing like the actions of our government. Propaganda and money has deeply plagued the system and us honest people are working on it! We know we have a great responsibility (just as all of us do) to bring the world together in a diplomatic, economic, and non-invasive way. Most of us are ashamed of the wars our politicians have led us into. We love foreign people to death. Mainly because most of us can trace our family lines back to immigrants. Again, much love from America, and we’re working towards a better future!

@johnmalvent21894 жыл бұрын
@@MikeyGoal You want to remind me what the current fed deficit is, and how any of that has to do with other countries looking up to the US in the past? I didn't like Reagan myself but honestly the standard of living in the US has been mostly unchanged since then, and yet the US continues to ramp up it's aggressive military actions, degrading any image of decency and constant improvement the country stood for after WW2. If the US wants to be the greatest power in the world again and into the future, policy needs to focus on mediation and improving the lives and liberties of individuals as it's constitution proclaims. Angry, purposely obtuse people who only criticize and offer no solutions need to think a bit deeper about the implications of their thoughts and words.

I'm a conservative, and these are my reasons for supporting Yang's UBI (maybe they can convince some of you): 1. UBI is not welfare. It will be offered to every citizen, and will replace a lot of welfare benefits (which, unlike UBI, actually de-incentivises work). 2. The UBI avoids the paternalism of current welfare benefits. SNAP tells you what foods you can and can't buy. Housing Assistance tells you where you can and can't live. The UBI puts control into the individuals' hands. This satisfies my libertarian tendencies. 3. The VAT (how the UBI will primarily be funded) will NOT be a tax on the wealthy. It will be a tax on the transactions of people who choose to spend more money on nonessential luxury goods. 4. Being universal, the UBI will avoid a lot of administrative paperwork and resources that many current welfare benefits entail. This streamlines the government.
@hyong-qc3ss5 жыл бұрын

@lynndg17525 жыл бұрын
Your not a conservative
@TruthHurts18715 жыл бұрын
Let me add on your point 3, the reason for VAT is that big businesses can't avoid it like they can with the current tax system. Since it taxes every business transaction that adds value, hence Value added Tax, it can actually legibly tax big corporations that have been avoiding tax for years. Also staple food & basic necessity goods can be adjusted for lesser tax rate. The VAT is designed to tax big businesses, especially high tech companies and not the public. In addition, unlike the rest of the world where they have VAT implemented, you get monthly income aka Freedom Dividend going back to you so it is hardly a tax in that sense and even if tax rate is at 10%, you have to spend 120k per year to break even. And for the big business prospective, they know the current system is not sustainable & pushing to the points that some even have to buy bunkers for their so called Plan B. With this Freedom Dividends, people will have more cash to spend and some will go back to their businesses. So is a win-win solution.

Yang is a true Progressive and it's really a 3rd party, because corporate Democrats and Republicans support corporate corruption in government and that has always been the real problem and why nothing positive ever gets accomplished for the people. I worked a minimum wage job for 4 months made roughly 500$ in rainy day funds and turned it into a 1,578 $ using the stock ACB so yea 1,000 would be better for me and probably for your economy too but that’s because I majored in economics yea the rest of my generation may not get as lucky. Also student loans would virtually be erased and education would always be paid for. With more people taking on student loans it depreciates the banks overtime because payments on your loan are normally inconsistent. My generation will need something like this before our banks go bankrupt or our education system will keep inflating our dollars!
@BeelzebubBeelzebub5 жыл бұрын
TugIronChief Jobs are going up so it the cost of living and the minimum wage here is 7.25$ which is the lower. Maybe these jobs would mean more if we could earn more than that but 7.25 is not what you want to work on! Also it was a physical demanding job opened 8AM-8PM I worked full shifts in cold, heat, and humidity. I also asked for a dollar raise at the end of my 4 months I got a maybe and then proceeded to work and I checked up them after 2 weeks and they said they still needed to talk about it. I just left and had to find another low paying job. Definitely would have stayed if I wasn’t making 7.25! Yea jobs are great but guess what millions of jobs at 7.25 is not and my state makes up all the revenue that freaking Canada earned. I could take a job at 5.00 with this 1,000 a month also with 1,000month the minimum wage consequently goes up overtime so this is the better of the two evils.

TugIronChief If demand increases and supply remains unchanged, then it leads to higher equilibrium price and higher quantity. If demand decreases and supply remains unchanged, then it leads to lower equilibrium price and lower quantity. Millions of low paying jobs isn’t helping anyone in my generation we already have low morale because a lot of stuff was handed to us. I would say I measure my success by the things I have and can use to help out my or someone’s situation. 1,000 a month = a guaranteed 1,000 dollar menu cheeseburgers. 1,000 also pays for 16 days in a cheap hotel. This is basically half a month so I could stay in a hotel for roughly 6 months and live there with my job. Either way 1,000$ to everyone’s paycheck is simply that. Guaranteed income I honestly feel 1,000$ is a lot i would vote for someone’s who’s handing out 50$ per person.

@@Barskor1 Being at ground zero for technology here in Silicon Valley I know what's coming and most are going to need UBI as automation encroaches and becomes ever-more pervasive in society. The dinosaurs in Washington aren't prepared for and don't understand the magnitude of the displacement of traditional human jobs. $12K is a soft landing of sorts while government and society figure out and redefine what is meaningful and valuable in our lives. Metrics like GDP do not tell the whole story and are skewed because productivity will be sky high with robots and automation (they are highly productive, faster and more efficient than humans, and don't need to stop for breaks or shifts, lots of productivity for low cost) but human lives won't necessarily be better off unless we start to make sweeping changes now to meet the multitude of challenges of the 21st Century technological revolution. Retraining low skilled workers to suddenly be tech savvy coders is a fantasy and there won't be a need for that many coders as machine learning can automate low level programming. No one is immune because technology is improving at an exponential rate faster than any other revolution in human history. UBI is going to be a necessity in the interim otherwise social unrest will ensue when folks like the millions of truckers can't feed their families.

@gespilk Let me inform you that you are replying to someone who was homeless, denied benefits, lived in a tent city behind a Walmart, had to beg for meals from churches and otherwise ate scraps from restaurant garbage. 18.5 million people in this country live in deep poverty, that is to say with less than $6070 in annual income. 13 million people live in poverty without any aid at all. The average individual SNAP benefit is about $125 per month, and 32% of the people eligible for it are denied outright. TANF in my state is a little over $500 per month, and 38% of people eligible are denied outright. Both of these programs also have lifetime eligibility restrictions, and recipients are going to lose those benefits no matter what we do. You want to discredit this proposal by saying it takes away from those programs? Go read the actual write-up for the Federal Jobs Guarantee from the Levy Institute. It specifically cites that proposal would be funded in part by reduced enrollment in SNAP, TANF, EITC, and UI. Where is your outrage against that proposal? Frankly that should be okay, because it is inhumane when you fight to keep people in poverty just to preserve enrollment count. You don't like the way the program is funded? Show me another tax proposal that would generate $800 billion to $1.5 trillion annually. You could take all the tax proposals from all the other candidates combined and it still wouldn't come close to the same revenue. The closest is Warren's corporate wealth tax, and it's barely even a quarter of the revenue the VAT would bring in. Don't think it's sustainable? Almost the entire planet uses a VAT precisely because it is the most sustainable revenue as it is not subject to loopholes or wealth flight. You want to argue that it reduces our bargaining power in the labor market? The proposal was, in fact, first drafted by the former leader of the largest labor union on earth precisely because having guaranteed income independent from your employer grants union members the ability to strike and not fear starving their families. You might call yourself a progressive, but you've come arguing against the most dramatic expansion to the social safety net that has ever been proposed. We aim to make subsistence income a human right. If you really believe you're a progressive, then you are welcome to join us.

So I think you should switch to Democrat for the primary and switch back to Independent afterwards.
