I've just cleaned up my laptop. The only thing I needed to do was to unscrew the main case, unplug battery and fan, and then unscrew cooling solution. I was surprised that there were no thermal pads between vRAM and cooling. Unfortunately I don't own any at the moment so I've let it as it was before. Maybe it was necessary only in GTX 960M model. I have 80RU with i5-6300HQ and GTX 950M. Thank you for this video.

hi, isnt ssd on this overheating? I plan to use 950 PRO in it, but may be usefull to drill some holes to the case over ssd too?

I use Plextor SATA SSD and it's fine. PCIe may be hot, but I think it won't be necessary to mod a case since it could came with PCIe SSD from factory.

@@andreasada409 No. If I understood it well, for this laptop the gpu should be printed in the motherboard. At least that's what I think.

Hello, much easier to use Compressed Air. Not a single screw is unscrewed. The process with the compressor takes a maximum of only 5 seconds. After that the laptop is so clean, you never make it with the toothbrush or brush. I've cleaned this already 1000 times. The gameing laptop is blown out with me once a month. Thanks for your video.

Of course compressed air once a while will prevent clogging cooling system, but eventually you will have to change thermal compound or replace battery and you can't do that without opening your notebook.

I have a question ... my laptop Lenovo IdeaPad 700 battery is defective causing my laptop to shutdown from time to time so i took off the battery and since that time the laptop is working fine .. SO can a good technician repair my battery or i must replace it by a new one ????

Cooles Video! Ist Dir bekannt, wo der Schalter für den Monitordeckel liegt? (Der den Ruhezustand auslöst, wenn der Deckel geschlossen wird) Bei meinem Gerät spinnt der Schalter und schaltet das Notebook im laufenden Betrieb aufgeklappt in den Ruhezustand. Ich will den Schalter jetzt deaktivieren. Ich brauche den nicht.

einfach im Windows Einstellungen ändern...Energieoptionen >>> auswählen, was beim zuklappen des ….. >>> bei zuklappen (Klicken und wählen sie Option) >>> nichts unternehmen (für Akku und netzbetrieb beide)

Danke für die Antwort. Aber wenn es so einfach wäre, hätte ich nicht gefragt. ;-) Das schlägt mit google als erstes vor, wenn ich danach suche. 1. Ich habe kein Windows. (Linux Mint 19) 2. Trotz eingestellter Option "Beim Zuklappen nichts unternehmen" reagiert das System (Durch Sperren des Bildschirms) Wie gesagt: Der Schalter spinnt. ich will den abklemmen. Hardware. Nicht Software.

How could I replace the 2 USB ports on the right side next to the ethernet port? The plastic part in one of the ports cracked and fell off and all the pins on the inside are bent.

Since the last time I cleaned, I dissasembled the whole cooler. It makes a weird grinding noise now. Any chance you know what did I do wrong? Tnx

sculin You should lubricate, because after removing the whole cooler and cleaning and putting it back in you removed some oil

Nope , it's soldered, if m.2 connector goes over pci-e controller you might be able to hook up external gpu

yes, but you do need to dissasemble the cooler in order to get to cpu.

@@andreasada409 Remove the lid, then disassemble the WiFi card. Then you have to loosen and remove the bolts of the cooler. Unplug the cables of the cooler fan. This is it if I remember correctly. I don't remember if I am missing something, but it's pretty easy.

Hello I have the same laptop.. but when I go to bios and change the graphics from "uma only" to "Discrete" the fans gets load and I get a blue screen error... could u please help me

This sometimes is a problem depending on the order your drivers were installed. Try removing Intel and AMD drivers, reboot and try Intel first then AMD second. If that still produces a BSOD then reverse and go with AMD drivers first.

I bet this was nothing about the drivers. I did fresh drivers install using DDU yesterday and it was flawless. Probably the Nvidia GPU was broken.

Timothy Simple after a lot of testing it seemed ntn worked, so I just sold the laptop and bought a acer nitro 5.. I'm loving it so far haven't had a issue.. I also added a extra 8gb for a total of 16gb ddr4 and a 1tb hdd for storage seeing the 250ssd wasnt enough space for my games

Nitro 5 is pretty nice notebook. Also adding 8GB RAM made it dual-channel so you gained a bit of performance. Good choice, have fun :)

I don't know if you fixed the problem, but the happened to me. In my case it was a problem with how BIOS read how much battery is left. Updating the BIOS solved the problem for me
