Diabetic patients are impotent...... The truth is he is impotent and is ashamed of himself and too ashamed to admit it and talking down to him or attacking him just makes it worse for him. Several things about this story strikes me as odd. When was the last time they had sex before they got married? If he doesn't like all the emotional stuff how did he ever have children? It seems to me like he's depressed (I know I'm not able to properly diagnose anyone). But he doesn't come across as happy, energetic, or excited about life. He's afraid of touch, and when I've been depressed I'm so down on myself that I don't feel worthy to be touched by my husband, and I shut down.

This man has a problem with being vulnerable. It happens to a lot of people. He has had his fair share of disappointments and hurt in is past and people like this tend to harden their hearts, tend to close off anything that will cause to feel sadness(like going to the funeral with her, or going to the dr to hear possible bad news). In reality it’s because they know it’s their weakness why they stay away from it. Over time, that continuous shutting off of emotions just becomes who you are and before you know it, you can’t even feel emotions towards your lover, you can’t share intimate feelings because your heart begins to melt and it takes you back to a time where you felt weak and hurt. So you keep on closing off emotional things. Once this man gets some help and finally let go of the pain and accept that he has someone who loves him and he won’t be disappointed then he’ll be fine. Trust me, I’m a young man and I have no sexual issues but there are times when I’m stressed or not so happy and I’m less interested in sex and times where things are going well and I want back to back to back.
