Another catch-up with the families.
Presenter Claudia Winkleman guides the audience through a week-long journey at TV’s first ever child and parent behaviour refuge.
During their stay at the House of Tiny Tearaways, three families live together, while child psychologist Dr Tanya Byron works with both parents and children to solve issues around fussy eating, sleeping habits, and public tantrums - and she'll challenge the parents to get to the root of the problems they're experiencing raising their children.
With Dr Tanya Byron's help and advice, the hope is that the families will learn useful pedagogy techniques and gain new insights, giving them long-lasting support though the parenting challenges they're facing.
Real Families brings you stories of modern day family life from around the world through the eyes of children, parents, and parenting experts.

The progress shown this episode in 3 short days is testament to Tanya's talent & commitment to helping families that struggle with a wide range of behavioral issues. Callum and his Mom are learning to enjoy each other while Mom walks away from his bad temper. Little Bradley is hopefully been properly diagnosed and the family will find other matters to stress over than food. And Talula has realized that the jig is up and daddy isn't going to fuss over her 24/7 excluding the rest of the family. I suspect she will give it another go but if her behavior is nipped in the bud, Talula will finally learn her lesson.

This is my favorite group of families this season and little big boy Callum is my favorite child. He's so cute and so sweet once he's learned to communicate better and becomes less frustrated. The bond between Callum and his Mom is so lovely. It didn't take hardly any coaxing from Tanya for that to reveal itself and shine brightly.

A child that constantly has a pacifier in their mouth will never be able to speak clearly…most childcare facilities insist on a child not having one for comfort after 18 months to two years…thank goodness my four kids never used one…

I have to say that Sir Bradley has got to be one of the most handsome young men that I have ever seen. Not only does he have those great big beautiful blue eyes but his demeanor as well. Besides the food issue this little guy is without a doubt the most well behaved little person on the planet. I have fallen inlove and am totally captivated by him!!! May he grow up and live a life filled with all of his dreams come true!!!

Agreed. Absolutely beautifully boy! Inside and out. It’s rare to see a child that age have real empathy for others. It seems that the children who come in to the TT house with food/eating issues tend to be quite intelligent, kind and sensitive. Where most children use naughty behavior (something external) to gain control over others and/or to get what they want, these children use food (something internal) to gain control over how people *treat* them and their inner sense of self. Very interesting.

He inherited that beauty from his stunning mother and handsome father. He is very sweet and kind when food isn't a factor but that truly isn't his fault. I notice his Mom has more authority or rather receives more respect from Bradley. The previous evening at dinner when Brad was asked to sit back down at the table, I suspect if Daddy hadn't been there cheering on "Come On do it mate" his mom had a good chance of getting him seated. Maybe it's the "Mate" title. Bradley may take it as a cue Dad is wavering.

@@theyliveyousleep8965 I so wanted Tanya to run into Bradley’s bedroom and pull his father out of that disastrous timeout that he completely ruined. He really was the cause of that child’s eating issues and wasn’t learning from Tanya’s instruction. Very frustrating. He couldn’t stop rewarding bad behavior with attention.

He finally ate cheese. He is stubborn and in control while dad tries to talk and manipulate instead if saying what he wants 1 time. He negotiates by asking kid if he wants to try...rather than making no big deal and modeling and then saying what he wants kid to do. Asking if he's SURE he'll be good is SOOOOOO annoying!!! I hate the words "Are you SURE" because a person isn't going to respond..."NOOOOOO I'm not sure. Let me re calculate this." These parents are the problem they conditioned their kids to BE and behave this way then paint themselves as a victim.

My oldest son was an incredibly picky eater until he decided to go to culinary school in Vancouver. He returned after first year eating every raw veggie on the planet, something impossible before. He would eat anything, perhaps not much of it but he tried it. After becoming a chef he changed his career path to fitness and nutrition. So there's hope as they get older they are exposed to more foods at friends houses and events.

Most people enjoy dairy products, as do I. If the family eats dairy, unless the child is allergic, they expect him to eat it as well. He is their child, not yours, and they can raise him as they see fit.

All bottle fed babies to be fed soya milk then?
@CeravvvEgan
@CeravvvEgan 2 жыл бұрын
@@Georgiaredfern Bradley is not a baby. He’s weaned. No one needs milk past weaning. No one needs milk from another species either. Speaking of soy milk or formula, calves in the diary industry are taken off their mums within 48 hours of birth and fed on formula so that humans can drink the milk the cow produces for her own calf. No that’s sick. Oh and the male calves are a “waste product” as they won’t produce milk so they are killed not long after birth. Often by being bludgeoned to death by the farmer, or sent to slaughter house for dog food, burgers etc. It’s all wrong.

It’s how English is spoken in that part of the world. Most English people have difficulty hearing the Scottish speak. After a few days of listening, it becomes easier to tune into their patterns and accent. Children of every language can develop speech issues. Using a pacifier limits muscle development and speech abilities. It’s very common.

She is not Scottish she is from Liverpool and with it being a major seaport for centuries the accent and dialect is a melting pot of languages from all over the world. Of course Calum can understand his mother, he hears the Liverpool speech every day, if you were to suddenly put him in Devon or Dorset then he may have a problem but not for long. I think it is high time that dummies were banned, they are used far too often and far too long. Once a child starts beginning to speak then they need to go because the development of the muscles they need to speak is far more important. A child may protest about the loss of the dummy for a few days, what is that compared with being able to communicate properly. Most of my working life was spent in learning disability care and so many behavioural issues arise because of lack of communication, non verbal service user doesn't mean non comprehension and as social beings we need to communicate.
