This is a nice and useful guide on topology, thank you, but the way you were extruding each single vert one by one without just selecting some vertex and extrude was a bit painful

How did you connect the two vertices? They don´t merge when I try to do the same.

After using the shrik and the multires my hands create some weird things that i can't seem to fix for the life of me. Is there any solution other than movin the geometry?

your tutorials are great and I like your content so much, but the fast forward specially in the hand made it unclear just after changing the route around the thumb. now I am stuck with my hand model :(

I've been thinking if the retopology is of the same shape as the original mesh with lower Poly's, then why not just select all the vertices of the original mesh and right click then unsubdivide it. I think that should give a similar result as the retopology

most of the time high polys topos are pretty ugly that's why we retopo

retopo isn't just make low poly, you need to make the faces according to the flow of your model, if not you'll have problems with rigging and animation.

But you lost all detail and its very hard to put that high resolution model to game and blender will crash alot during animation 😂 that is why modelig is much better

But we didn't lose any details tho, once u brought back details with shrinkwrap and multires you can just bake it into a displacent and normal map and use it in video games while maintaining low poly model.
