Bill Gates sat down with The Post's Lyndsey Layton in March, to defend the Gates Foundation's pervasive presence in education and its support of the Common Core. Here's the full, sometimes tense, interview.

In the mid 1970s I was having problems with a Zenith Z90 computer. I discovered that if I shifted a number left it worked and if I shifted the same number right it did not. I called and talked to him. Later I had two more incidents with shifting with carry. A month or more was lost. The product in question cost more than the cost of a laptop today. . Years later it was problems with C, then C++ and then C#. All of this was for lots of money and even more in constant bug fixes for a product that should have been bug free. Early adopters paid for the products than the upgrades. Late adopters paid less and had fewer bugs. Today we are moving to Python. It is free and when there are bugs a single line of text brings us up to date for free. . Children's education is not an experiment. Once taught you can not press a button to update them. When something else comes around Bill cannot drop this program and create a new one. What about the millions of children taught using an experimental system? Do you put them on a book shelf as props as to where we came. Why Windows Me or Windows 7. If the product was not fully developed than why are there so many in-between versions? Where did all that money go for all of those versions. Why were there so many versions of DOS, BASIC, and C? Is education any different? . Common Core has already being upgraded. When science is introduces the name is changing. When the children being programmed in math today going to be complaint to the changes? The testing for college is already being changed. The children that enter college will have to be reprogrammed to even take the entrance exams. Anyone that cannot make a standard programming language or operating system for a computer cannot be allowed to do the same with people.

Because it was never about teaching that is why. It was about advancing acceptance of technology more than it was teaching children. They wanted all children to be using frequency technology plain and simple. Now they have it. All kids hooked up to phones and tablets 24 hours, to be manipulated and controlled and people do not like hearing the truth but microwave frequency technology is used for weaponry, the frequencies can be calibrated for anything they want. Do the research then you will know exactly why he did not care about the outcomes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Gates. I believe he's a greater danger to humanity than a benefactor, because he's obscenely powerful yet gets things wrong as often as the next guy, while lacking the empathy to appreciate the impact on others' lives. Still, to claim he "had a meltdown" in this interview is a mischaracterization. It's just false. Annoying.

Does common core teach our kids HOW to do TAXES? That might actually change the world. How about trying that as some "new thing?" As far as "trying something new" in regards to our national education, a complete reform without trials and proven examples of how it is actually better? Teachers telling their parent body not to help students with their homework because they need to be taught in a specific manner for the common core when it was first adopted. Weird? Computerized testing that data mines by the responses. Umm... Something smells funny. Trying "new things" on our children without consent or basic respect and inclusion of the intentions and policy change? Just expected to participate because we are backed in a corner. Really, the "new math" isn't new. It's good from what I can tell. Maybe not age appropriate for being able to comprehend how we subtract by adding (and that WAS an incredibly important method for me when I was a waitress...) but also incredibly obvious once we reach that maturity and level of practice. Why make such a big deal out of it so early on? Do we need more competent cashiers or something? Maybe trying to teach basics before they reach teen years and check out because that is what Hollywood teaches us in our society? Somebody finally get fed up with not getting the right change due? Let's make sure people know how to tip correctly too while we are at it. So what I want to know is how does this apply to the higher level math and why is it so "important" to implement on a national level?

I've always struggled with understanding the way he expresses himself, so I had to listen to this interview a few times. Studying education excellence, the best teachers and what works in classrooms, and having experts analyze this data collected sounds like a great idea for our kids and education system! Keeping the politics out of it is also a good idea IMO! When it comes to education and our children politics needs to stay out!! I don't think he's being driven by business profit bottom lines or anything, but I do think he wants his MS technology and his philanthropic endeavors to be perceived as being great things for humanity! His achievements and how he's benefited financially from them have obviously elevated his perception of who he is as a human being, he certainly appears to not like having his motives being questioned but who does really? I appreciate his honesty about not being savvy when it comes to politics. I wish he had higher expectations regarding proper scientific vaccine safety research! Sure wish he could try to understand why many parents have higher expectations for more vaccine safety!

(25:6) O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, and recite My revelations to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. (7:35) God thus explains His revelations for you, that you may understand. common core math is common sense. all those that are against it have no idea of what they are talking about.

Sounds like a talking point. Can you elaborate on how it's common sense?
@tonytostada8 жыл бұрын
+Bob Odda Its common sense in my opinion because it is the way most people use mental math on daily basis. Common core uses methods the brain understands and breaks it apart and finds the answer much quicker mentally( without using paper, and a pencil or calculater). I understand that traditional math seems like a faster method on paper, but when it comes down to using it where it matters like when shopping. using percentages, and traditional borrowing from a number to add or subtract is not functional unless one has a pencil and paper. common core is breaking this tradtional method by retraining the brain to use math in a functional form. or atleast this is how i started to do math on my own, even though i learn traditional math methods, it seemed like it was not functional for me. i did not learn about this common core math until recently a few agos, and i looked it up, and realized this is the method i taught myself to use throughout school to solve math problems quickly, and im 35 years old. Ive seen a few videos on youtube where many people are calling this method of math a communist/ socialist method of teaching. by definition traditional math is more communist/ socialist. common core math is much more liberal, there is multiple ways to solve an equation. traditional math is structured where it can only be solved one way. the other reason i believe many politicians are against it is because of the money involved in publishing rights for books, so im guessing someone is losing out on alot of money and thats is why they are against it.

No one would disagree with that. Your example doesn't reflect common core. Just google common core math examples. The curriculum aside, the bottom line is that educators are supposed to develop curriculum, not the federal government and big business. This should not be tolerated whatsoever.They will use it to manipulate, as is clearly evident in the blatant propaganda that kids are being indoctrinated with in common core. Google common core indoctrination and while you're at it google common core pornography and check out what is considered appropriate reading material for kids.

+Bob Odda The child pornography are stories that Middle School and High School students get to choose to from to do reports. I would agree it seems a little extreme for my standards, because i grew up Catholic, and was taught that sex is something to be explain by your own parents, not in a text book at school. My opinion is many kids will seek what they find interesting to them regardless if appropriate or not. It would make for a difficult discussion at home to discuss at the dinner table, but i would much rather know my childs opinion about her believes about sexuality, and her views in what she is reading than to not discuss it all. My opinion if public schools will be funded by government funds, they should have a say in what will be allowed and prohibited. If parents dont like the standards, their is other options, like private schools, private religious schools. Indoctrination, my opinion is if the parents are doing their part at home, children cannot be misled, or misguided from the truth.

Funny how ironic this conversation is. The arguments proposed by the interviewer are the reason common core needs to be restructured. If there is no evidence to believe in something, then there is no reason to believe in it. Especially if evidence against the false argument exists (which it usually does if you dig deep enough). Completely defaming people and discrediting there work by preaching false claims spread by misinformed or malevolent people is evil. These people hinder humanities ability to progress. (Many of said people are in the comment section)

Haha what's wrong with this reporter? Why does she keep asking stupid questions. That's actually why I'm not liking it. I don't even understand what this is. Who would they post this? What a waste of his time.
