Maybe he has to interview phony people even when he doesn't want to, just because they are in the public eye. But you can tell when he genuinely admires a guest, like he showed in this interview of Lady Gaga. She's really a lovely person, and what she said about Dr. Ford was so spot-on, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm sorry Stephanie had to suffer a sexual assault; I am very glad she survived and lived to tell the tale. May Brett Kavanaugh burn in hell for what he did to Dr. Ford (& other women I'm sure), and I truly believe he will pay the price for his actions after he crosses over (praying that is soon...). He is absolutely unfit for a position on the Supreme Court. They should abolish that "term for life". Then once Biden gets into office, he could oust the sexual assaulters and harrassers such as Kavanaugh & Clarence Thomas, and replace them with judges who are decent people like Merrick Garland.

I so so agree with you. My friends didn't get my enthusiasm for this gifted, smart, enthusiastic, beauty with an amazing voice and her range(well...incredible). She hooked us with the outlandish getups getting noticed, then showed them all it was just the tip of the iceberg (so to speak) when she showed her underlying greatness and talent, by doing what I will call here, like singing and performing with some of the greats. What a gift the world has been given to have THE Lady in this fray with us.

It is a shame but inevitable. We all have lots going on in our lives and different tastes. I had lost interest in popular music before her career started. I missed the first 10 years, it's an incredible journey catching up with KZfaq footage. I now know she's the best popular performer of her generation and in the top ten of the last century. Lady Gaga deserves to be a super star not only for her talent but because she has worked so hard and with such passion to gain multiple skills to perform with such dramatic artistry. verbst EXACTLY! Thank you! I was molested by my older cousin at the age of 5- yes 5. I told no one AT ALL until I was 35 and sought counseling. That “box” I hid for so long; full of trauma, and unwarranted shame was ready to implode my well being due to my own destructive behaviors. I remember being a happy, fun, jovial child before that. (I have cheesy pics of me at four doing the Fonzie thumbs up, and me at 3, at Disneyland walking down a bench acting like a 70’s model). Then THAT happened. I try not to, bc I know it’s not good, but I often wonder who and where I’d be if that HUGE incident hadn’t altered my psyche indefinitely. Yes, I know, *some* women lie, but MOST DON’T. For Dr. Ford to put herself out there AND take an oath, and then not be believed and even mocked by the assaulter in chief, was the strongest/hardest thing she’s ever had to do. She was what 13-15 years old. If I was 5 and can remember this, just bc I never told “anyone sooner”. DOES. NOT. MEAN. IT. DID’NT. HAPPEN.

Because Pancakes yet all her witnesses denied the accounts and nothing was found on Kavanaugh ... and now she’s dropped pursuing the case instead of fervently demanding justice. Additional points - she didn’t want this to be public (yet she went to the Democratic Party instead of her local senator address the issue). President trump was accused during his presidency (yet never any time before - interesting) and the accusations fell apart - thus for now making him innocent until otherwise prevent guilty meaning he cannot be called an assaulter...but as with the case of those defending Dr.Ford (as with Emit Till [excuse any misspelling]), evidence doesn’t matter .. only the word of a wealthy white woman

I never knew much about Lady Gaga, I thought she was way over the top, but this wonderful interview showed me how wrong I was. She touched me deeply with her comments about sexual abuse and how we put it in a box and shut it so we can continue living, until something triggers the memory and the box explodes wide open. That is EXACTLY how it happens and only a survivor like myself knows it.

I've known who Lady Gaga is for a long while. My daughter is a hige fan, but Im more of a classic rock type old hippie. Ive always thought she had a fantastic voice, but just not my style of music. Anyhow, I saw the movie. Just wow. When everyone was exiting the theater, people looked absolutely shell-shocked. Grown men with red and tear stained faces. A lot of them. Now I came across this interview and I realized that I had a big dopey smile on my face the entire time I was watchin hwr speak. She is an absolutely radiant and utterly charming human being. I see now why my daughter thinks the world of her. Definitely planning on seeing her perform the next time she comes to Cleveland. She is one of the rare celebrities who seen genuine. I'm glad she used the word triggered unapologetically and unironically. People need to stop treating that as a joke. It literally relates to PTSD and anxiety...the fact people joke about it shows a misunderstanding of how serious it can be. If you got in a car accident then got nervous being in a car, it's understandable. Right? You'd avoid cars for a while. This is the same thing. I wish everyone knew that when hearing the word triggered. Trigger warnings help people stay away from things that can seriously mentally debilitate them so they can function well.

@pickclawraider4206
@pickclawraider4206 5 жыл бұрын
The problem you face is that your definition of trigger warning is much different than what it is today. If a trigger warning were only related to things like PTSD or clinically diagnosed anxiety/depression/etc. that would be one thing. People take legitimate words and warp the meaning to fit their own agenda. Trigger warnings today are more akin to protecting people from any source of possible offense, no matter how mundane or insignificant. The sad truth is that the majority of people will experience a plethora of heart ache, pain and discomfort. It is impossible to be so careful and sensitive as to avoid causing anyone else offense or discomfort by the words we use. Sure, people don't need to be assholes to each other, but I feel my generation and those that follow lack any semblance of resilience or the ability to take a hit and keep on. Under almost no pressure or stress people buckle completely and lose all functionality. This is not healthy. But, to each their own.

Pickclaw Raider, yeah, the thing is, people didn't really understand what TRIGGERED or TRIGGER even mean. Something that makes you slightly uncomfortable? Triggered. I believe it started from the site tumblr, because that's where I saw shit loads of it. Even saw a "trigger warning" for TREES. It was ridiculous and humorous to me from day one. And because of those, the point and meaning of triggered and trigger warnings became a joke, when it's a real, serious thing that exists.
@pickclawraider4206
@pickclawraider4206 5 жыл бұрын
LadyDynamitez, Sure, I understand, and give it to the internet to take anything at all and turn it into a joke, no surprise there, but my point still stands. When something is offensive to me, I turn away from it, turn it off, or separate myself from it. I don't start a crusade to end all things offensive to me, even if it really hurts, then I move on. I try not to be an asshat to people in general, and sometimes perhaps my sense of humor gets the best of me (I tend to be pretty crude, but I'm also considerate of people around me). I just think we should be teaching younger generations to be more resilient and emotionally stronger to be able to weather the difficulties in life without caving in, or making everything such a huge deal. I think far more damage is done by people crying victim, when they dwell and stew over something. It's a fantasy though, things are getting worse and worse.

This interview is highly educational and should be added in course materials for schools and universities even. And Lady Gaga is one of the realest celebrities, never knew that could be possible for someone so famous to be so stripped down in front of cameras, it almost seems like she doesn't care one bit what people think of her. Stay true and stay real!

This woman is a wonder, she has one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard, she's a talented musician and songwriter too but among all things she uses her power to be a voice in this world being an activist, philanthropist, politicized and highly intelligent woman who knows what to do with her influence, she's almost too kind and cool for people to believe how big her heart is. No one is perfect but surely there are people who make the world a better place, she's one of those people for sure. I'm not a 'monster' but I truly respect her as an artist and human being. You go, Stefani!

And she grows... a lot of her contemporaries when she was fighting her way out into the limelight... they are gone or stuck in some stagnant place as entertainers. As she ages, she allows her performances to organically change with her. That's why I liked when she said in the interview... something to the effect of... *she tries* *_-NOT to do THAT-_* as in... wish she did or did not do something... *it is what it is at the time that is what I wanted to say*

Ronson Peters I actually realized this when I saw her in A Star is Born this week. Her performance in that movie is so amazing you can't help but notice her talent but also how intelligent she must be to pull this all off. I was never a huge Lady Gaga fan but I've gained an all new respect for her after seeing this movie. Her intellect in the way she responded to the Ford situation is just icing on the cake. This is someone who is highly educated & naturally intelligent.

I am not a "pop" fan, but after I listened to her music I was very impressed. She has grown as an artist and a person, and her defense of Ford (and all sexual survivors) was probably the the clearest, most eloquent "lay-person" statements I have ever heard.

Deep down she's really shy and nervous. She has social anxiety. That's because of her PTSD from the sexual assault at the age of 19. + She's been brutally criticized by media ever since she came to the scene (that shes an hermaphrodite, satan worshipper etc) and on top of that, she broke her hip in 2011 on the 96th show of her world tour. The next album was ARTPOP and it was absolutely the worst times Gaga has been through because of media again. Take a look at ARTPOP and the street performances from that era. She worked with Marina Abramovic and she had an exhibition in the Louvre museum. What a life! (For more inspiration, you can watch 'Gaga: Five Foot Two' on Netflix. It is so inspiring and heartbreaking to watch
