He'd make a brilliant 007. His accent is 100% English & you'd never imagine that he was actually Danish, after watching DRACULA. He sounded like a mixture of DAVID ESSEX & RICKY GERVAIS. I'm pretty confident a James Bond accent would be very easy for such a talented actor.

Popskiptea I love him already!❤️ Not weird to me, not at all. Because he got used to speak English, he speaks more ingles than his language, you see. Maybe he just nervous on the show, but he could handle somehow. Claes Bang is so cute and funny! Clever, Sweet, Unique, Charming, Amazing man, and he is an amazing actor in deed. Obviously the interview show was awkward, bad, funny and unique. I did enjoyed! What a great show, don’t you think?

To me the best Drácula ever... His smile resembles Bela Lugosi's... And I'm shocked because few minutes ago I learnt he is not English, he's Danish... And sometimes while watching the series he looked a litle bit like Pierce Brosnan to me and he could make a terrific James Bond as well

After watching Dracula, I can confirm that I am head over heels for this man, he is such a beautiful person and wonderful actor, NOT TO MENTION HIS MUSIC IS GREAT!! I would absolutely LOVE to see him work with Mads Mikkelsen (my other fav Danish actor) on something (maybe they can work on Hannibal s4 or Dracula s2 together 👀)

Damn what is in the water in Denmark first Mads Mikkelsen and now Claes Bang. Wow I have seen him in The Square and now Dracula. I'm going to see The Northman soon on Amazon. He does looks like Pierce Brosnan. I think he would make a perfect 007!!

It was a risky move by the BBC to cast someone relatively unknown in the UK to play such an iconic role, but Claes is fucking fantastic. I now can't imagine anyone else playing Dracula, he did such an incredible job as the Prince Of Vampires. Need to see Claes more

I speak Norwegian and expected him to speak Danish, so I got all confused when I actually understood what he was saying and it took me a moment to realise that he was speaking Swedish and not just trying very hard to pronounce Danish words more clearly 😅

I can see him more like a Bond villian actually... and to Claes's favor, in the press conference, the Cannes jury said that they were so close to give him the acting prize but ended up giving it the Palm instead.

I've only just found him in Dracula - and he is amazing, he has the same tone/timbre to his voice as Pierce Brosnan.. In fact he looks a little like him too. A lot of people commenting he would make a great James Bond and I would totally agree.

it’s interesting that when he takes a break from speaking Swedish, he switches to English - are Swedes more likely to understand English than another Skandi languages like Danish?

Yeah, danes understand swedish and norwegian. But the swedes and norwegians have a hard time understanding danish because it's an ugly and very gutteral language. They think danish sounds like having a hot potato in your mouth at all times.

Why would you wish that on any actor you like? They’re tied to a series of mediocre films for years and essentially torpedo any career they could have had outside of it. It seems like a colossal bore for anyone who enjoys the craft of acting. If I like an actor, I hope they get to experience a wide range of challenges. James Bond is just a long commercial and a cinematic dinosaur.

Why isn’t Bang speaking his native Danish? I only realised he was actually speaking Swedish half way through, his pronunciation is so peculiar.

Yeah, it's strange. I know him from The Square. I know that the movie is filmed, set and made in Sweden, but he's a Dane in that movie. And Danish, Norwegian and Swedish are all mutually intelligible - he would most probably be understood if he did speak Danish. Could he have picked up some Swedish and followed it up from there?

He is speaking Swedish with a bit of a Danish accent. So they are speaking Norwegian and Swedish in this interview. Danish is a bit harder to follow at times, but he is talented to pratar svenska,.

Nope, it's not normal for Danes to speak Swedish, and definitely not as clearly as he does. I'm not sure if they learn it in school, Swedes often do one or two terms of Danish in school though, but don't generally reach a level where they can do much more than roughly understand Danes! 😋
