It was a big part of it, that and all the spooky classic horror sounds, they hit a great balance.

I don’t always notice the music in this type of programme or film but it’s obvious when there isn’t any. Consciously thinking about it, it’s critical to have it. Great three parter. Well, two parts were.

If I watched something twice, usually the music really catches my attention. and everytime I listen to the soundtrack again, I go back to the scene.

I’m glad I’m NOT the only one who’s disappointed with the third episode. But since Claes Bang and Dolly Wells were so good, I’m willing to close one eye and ignore the ridiculous finale. - 16 JAN 2020 EDIT: And the SFX was sooo good!

Jeffrey Zain I actually don’t understand why people are hating episode 3. Just because it took place in modern time? The story with Lucy was great& terrible to watch at the same time. It really showed how sadistic Dracula is in this show. The only thing, that sucked was the ending.

Kira K - I’m not sure what others think, but it’s my least favourite episode because: ■It feels rushed ■The first two episodes were artistically and beautifully crafted with superstitious mumbo-jumbos, and all of a sudden, the episode finale looks like a CSI meets Grimm meets Supernatural - don’t get me wrong, it’s great, BUT it sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison with the first two episodes

Kira K I think it’s just a jarring change to the overall atmosphere, I still enjoyed ep 3, but I enjoyed the first two better because creepy supernatural horror just works soooo much better set in spooky old castles and creaky old boats, as soon as it looked like it was someplace I could go it lost a lot of suspension of disbelief. I suppose they could maybe have found a way to set it in an abandoned hospital or dilapidated mansion or something spooky like that, but it wouldn’t have felt like Dracula was adapting to and winning in these modern times, and this wasn’t a ‘ once fed shrink away like a frightened bat’ kind of vampire.

Lumibear - Yes. Episode 3 was great *BUT* as a stand-alone episode or an entirely new series dedicated to Dracula living in London, swiping gleefully on Grindr LOL.

I loved the score, specially the music in the lastest scene of the third episode (which I happen to love) It was so emotional, full of meaning, as Count Dracula says: "Beautiful".

Really wish they'd retcon the third episode and the whole "Dracula wakes up 123 years later and now it's the modern day" thing in a future season. It was such a jarring tonal shift from what was established in the brilliant first two episodes.

Tis a very good soundtrack 👌🏻 Also, I love how involved Mark, Steven and Sue are with the music. Anyway, anything made by Michael Price and David Arnold is emotional and fitting so every scene 👏🏻

SPOILER! It’s time we knew who came up with the third instalment concept. Moffat or Gatiss? Whoever it was needs to be held accountable for spoiling what came before in episodes 1 and 2.

Emilia Robson Me too. The story with Lucy was great& his comments about the 21th Century were funny.

I loved it too, the only thing I thought it was strange, the same names from Dr. Seward, Lucy, and so on. I think if they used or the first name only or just the family name it was better. One of the reasons I loved it was because I didn't watch thinking about Stoker's book and another reason is because I study humanized vampires for my doctor's degree, that is almost finishing.

Partial Spoiler.. Obviously Dracula and Van Helsing die at the end. But the people who made this have teased there may be a second season yet due to Dracula being so powerful that he could survive and return.

This Dracula's ability reminds me from anime style called genjutsu that make the victim had a sweetdream or nightmare, and the ending it just like Itachi kill Izumi. And that coming from the victim's skin it's like Orochimaru. I think Moffat is a bit of weeb🗿😂

I don't think the show needs to continue, it was amazing but at the same time I wouldn't mind seeing what lead to Dracula's decrepit appearance at the start of the show.

Firstly that's NOT Dracula, and I know this because Dracula is NOT suicidal, and secondly Dracula toys with humans and hates the Vanhelsings but he wouldn't die over one, whos crazy mixed up noggin did that plot twist come out of? What a great disappointment the WHOLE wretched thing was. This new 21st century is bringing a dumbed-down, frankly, stupid generation with it, get a real job if you can't write good, enduring scripts... NotFooled

I liked the first 1 and 1/2 episode of it. But you're right it is not Dracula nor is it Van Helsing. But if you ignore the names and just pretend it is somebody else, you can watch it is as a good movie. Just for pity sake don't watch episode 3. Moffat dropped the ball big time with that episode. I'de almost say, As usual. I don't know what it is with him and longer than two episodes of a complete story. It almost always goes wrong in the end
