Flying had never been on my radar before, but recently my Uncle passed and left me his Cessna 172 in his will with a letter about conquering ones fears among other things. I have been learning everything about the plane down to the nuts and bolts and am just starting to look into flight-school (fully funded by him as well). I have watched a few of these now and it has me shaking-nervous and kinda terrified-excited...in a good way. Watching these and having a level of familiarity with what I am about to walk into is going to work those nerves out of my system ahead of time and I think it will make the whole experience much smoother. Thank you for the fantastic videos. Fly Safe o7

Yes! What an awesome uncle, and what a wonderful gift (specifically the letter about conquering fears). Cheers to being terrified-excited in a good way! I'm a paraglider pilot and am very familiar with the nexus of fear and excitement. I'm terrified of it, but yet there is something so magical about literally soaring with the birds. I wish you the very best as you face your fears and venture into the skies!

It’s really not as bad as it seems. All the comms follow a certain formula that’s easy to catch onto. Once you learn the formula and learn the phonetic alphabet it’s easy. For the Formula, most of the time you just say: [1.] state whoever it is you’re contacting (if it’s your first contact with them) (i.e. *San Marcus Ground or San Marcus Approach*) [2.] Your tail number / callsign (San Marcus Ground this is *skyhawk 80991*) [3.] State what your intentions or have ATC tell you what they want you to do (*Skyhawk 80991 taxi via Alpha-Charlie-Juliet hold short and wait runway 13.*) [4.] Readback what tower has told you and proceed from there. Edit: Callsign can sometimes be last too.

The mark of a good teacher is one who makes complex subjects seem easier, builds confidence - no condescension or impatience - and helps you relax while remaining focused. You exhibit all these positive qualities. Your methods also mean I don’t have to search through tons of KZfaq channels on aviation to understand something not explained or missing in a video. Great work. Very enjoyable to watch whilst also learning. Love the availability of online teaching to help reduce costs and make aviation more accessible to more aspiring pilots.

I flew in cessna like this once, but there was almost no talking like in his video. I guess it was like that because it`s just a small airport, only time the pilot was talking with flight control was before flight.

Such a good video!! The pov view the transition from cockpit auto to headset audio when you put on your headset. The instructional talk. I would hoping to see you touch the clouds but they were about 1,000 feet above as you remained at pattern altitude. Great video outstanding light touch landings. I hope to do these kind of videos soon as I approach my first solo. Would love to fly with you

My friend who just graduated and flew a plane, glider and helicopter. And yep, what you said is 100% accurate. Tho I never flew with him because he would always shout sing frank Sinatra songs and like to mess around (He knew his limits but still, I fly cautiously and follow everything because of all the stories from other pilots of being lazy and almost dying.)
