Got my old wii out of the closet a couple days ago and cleaned it out. Was originally just gonna revisit a couple classics from my childhood and move on, but then I started thinking about how easy I’ve heard it is to mod your wii, so I looked up a guide and found this! Thanks for the help!

Great tutorial. I have 2 Wiis sitting in my closet that I picked up at a thrift store for 10 bucks each. They both power on, but by the looks of the fans the internals really need a good cleaning. Thanks for your hard work.

this morning I got my pny 128GB 3.0 USB and let me tell you it worked flawlessly with my wii im so thankful for all your tutorials and for this you deserve my sub (also I went with off extended on deflicker and went with framebuffer and holy crap I love how my games look now : )

something else you can do is use Framebuffer Video Width, use 480p pixel fix patch but it may not change anything and use 4:3 on Display and Wii and on your display use some sharpness if any is available and if you use for example Mayflash HDMI Adapter, Hyperkin HD Cable or Hardware Video Scalers like OSSC or Retrotink but they are pretty pricy and with all of these combined games will look super clean and sharp

double check that the your usb is compatible wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List and go into the hotbar at the top and make sure wii games are checked

@@parkerbennion2343just download it like the video said put in in the wii go to the calendar (the date must be good for your own sake) and then go do what the video says it should work

this tutorial was so informative and helpful!! my wiis been working great for a few months, but i recently ran into a problem if anyone can help! i haven’t changed any of my settings or downloaded anything new, but now when i try to play any game, i’m sent back to the wii home screen or the homebrew channel (depending on how i loaded up usbloader.) the only new thing that happened was my electricity went out, but i’m not sure if that would’ve done anything to it.

This is a great tutorial, thank you for creating this content. However I have few questions: I've installed few of the Wii games in my Wii but one of them is not working, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is giving me a blank screen after selecting the file to play, I not sure what could be wrong, any info would be greatly appreciated. Also how big of a memory card capacity you can use for the Wii? I want to install ton of Wii games but wonder if the size of gb on sd card wont matter lol

When I go to open up a game on usb loader gx where the preview image would be it is a black screen and when I launch it it sends me back to the wii menu/ homebrew channel

Im getting frustrated with this i have homebrew channel on my wii but i cant get any apps to show up (open shop channel specifically) im using a 64gb sandisk usb formatted to FAT32 and following the instructions of every tutorial i see but nothing shows up on my homebrew app. Any tips?

Hey Scott thanks so much for the video. I had a question regarding USB loader gx. I tried to download my disc games to my SD card from USB loader GX and it would not allow me to download them . On my screen it says 0.00GB of 0.00GB free so Im not sure if thats the issue but any feedback would be appreciated!

Hi, I have a question: I installed homebrew on my Wii several years ago and no longer have the original SD card. Can I still install and use USB loader is I don't have any of the original files (like the bootmii file etc)? Essentially just going into it raw with only the homebrew already on my system and no pre-existing files on my SD or USB?

When I tried backing up my disk game, it returned "Failed to initialize USB storage device". Is this the reason why USB drives are suggested but not mandatory to use throughout the homebrew wii setup?

Hey, I'm following the tutorial and all, but when I go to the calendar and press on the little card there, the screen pretty much just frozed. I made sure that everything was up to date, the correct version of the console, and such. Its a refurbished wii that I bought not so long ago, but I have no idea why is not working, maybe you can give me some help over here. I will appreciate it

if anyone is having trouble at 14:40 in the video for finding "d2x-v11-beta1" make sure your sd cards lock button is not on and it should show up after you reload the installer

whenever i get on usbloader, it gives me the option to use the sd card, I press A and nothing happens, my games dont load in and it says i only have 0 gbs

@@calebcalvin i formatted the system memory and remodded it i wanted to wipe it because this keeps happening (even now) when i go play a .wad and then press the home button when i’m in a game my screen goes black for a sec and then i have to like press home more times and then it works

my games do not load on usb loader gx idk if it’s bc I’m on Mac but I setup the folders correctly and when I downloaded the games I formatted them to wbfs. the games show up on usb loader gx with the title and display but whenever I start it up I get a black screen and my controller disconnects and I’m brought back to the Wii menu.

Everything is working great. The only issue I am running into is when I hit the home button in USB Loader GX and do either wii menu or homebrew it just stays on a black screen. I can turn off the wii and back on and its fine but wanted to know if there is a fix for that?

hey i dont know if this is only happening to me but when i try to cut the wire on the letterbomb i get a message saying "are you a human?" and i tried to refresh still didnt work i even tried using 3 different computers but it says the same thing

For some reason, bootmii isn't loading properly on the hack mii part. The SD card is FAT32 and I am using a SanDisk brand card. Any advice on that?

Games that I have put in wbfs folder show up in the ubs booter on wii. But when I hit start, it boots back to the home screen of wii. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Completed the tutorial and added wbfs titles to my SD card correctly. Either USB port will not power my drum kit for Rock band games, any suggestions to get this working? I have tried loaders iOS on 248,249,250 and 251. While game iOS is set to auto. Drum power light is on but not recognised by the games.

For some dumb reason the letterbomb wont show up and I made sure the date and time was right and I had to use my phone to use as a sd card reader to do this so idk if that has something to do with this

Hey Scott I know you said that the bootmii is mainly for backing up the wii but neither boot2 or iOS install is working. i installed the home brew quite easily but I just get the red “failed” text for bootmii. I tried starting from square one but same thing.

nothing is showing up from my sd card after installiung homebrew and everything/ for example when i go to apps > loader gx > themes... there are no themes that show up. and when i try to add a game the wii keeps telling me to insert disk

Hi, I did all of this and it all worked however the SD card I used will no longer read on any pc. the sd card works on the wii with the games I have on it. I believe it has something to do with creating the ios for usb loader gx that changed how the pc would read the sd card but thats as far as my tech knowledge will get me. any idea of how to fix or how to just restart?

Bro Im still having issues, I'm trying to use Nintendont and it keeps telling me it needs ahb access, I fixed the xml, It was saved as a .txt, I've downloaded the latest versions of Nintendont, As well as Usb loader, I've double checked the Xml files on both and they both have the proper ahb access line. I'm at a loss, Any ideas?
