This story is very well written. It contains a lot of wisdom and practical knowledge. While it's a little dry, without any big bad or demon lords to worry about, it's definitely the best school arc story i've ever seen. Shame that it ends before the end of the competition though...

If we compare magic to guns. Then imagine the students dueling with real guns. At the end of the day you would have dead students. My suspention of disbelief is disturbed every time i see a student competition or training. japanese stuff seems to be more for children and gutted of any real violence , such as killing, when the plot revolves around fighting.
