for those that dont know... the "red-haired annie" at the beginning is Taylor Richardson who was playing Annie on Broadway at the time of filming! (and that is much like her costume and wig in the show)

this is literally so insulting. Listen to how they made all the kids groan after the first Annie's recitation. This was clearly done to portray the red haired Annie (representing the original version of Annie) as "cringe" and "boring" and paint the new Annie as the cool and hip one. You don't have to crap on the original version of a story in the reboot. Hollywood keeps doing this.

I think you’re blowing this wayy out of proportions.💀It’s pretty clear they groaned because the first Annie’s essay was “boring”, while the second Annie’s essay was more entertaining and engaging. Again, I don’t think it’s that deep lmao

They've written Charles Strouse in place of James Buchanan and Martin Charnin in that of Grover Cleveland. Strouse was the original musical's composer, and Charnin was the lyricist. Neither was ever President. UPDATE: Oh. I never noticed. Thomas Meehan in place of Andrew Jackson. He wrote the book (the part of the musical that has NO songs).

Thanks, I hate it! Seriously, I just can't get past the fact that this entire movie is just one long joke "Teeheehee, look how corny the original version was, and how silly it is that everyone is singing!" Sorry movie, you are NOWHERE NEAR clever enough to pull that off!

That's not the point of this version at all? This was just the opening, the actual movie has a ton of musical numbers just like the original musical? Almost all the same musical numbers, in fact. It's pretty good! And I say that as someone who really loves the original!
