Its good to see the younger generation putting down the social media and getting there hands durty you truly cant learn how to run a die grinder in a port tjrew a book or class unless its hands on keep on porting dont let a set of heads performance determine whether you keep trying

I appreciate that bro.. I pretty much just took a chance in these because a had nothing at home to do lol. But I did get them magna fluxed and they're good to go. Got new valves and lunati springs. They're going back to the shop to get a valve job

Ports look good! Try setting the throat diameters at 89% intake valve and 87% exhaust valve fully blended to the bowl. JD

Your ports are going to favor the radius on the roof when the radius is trenched out causing paddling you cant make air go where you want let it flow where it wants it does not matter what they loook like its the port taper and bias that really helps most important is the valve job + 1inch in and OUT the valve what you havr done wont kill the power but there is alot on the table gt40 ports are very unforgiving e7s are much easier to get power and flow out of sont get stuck on flow numbers

I cut threw in places especially the push rod tube and brazed them.up you can weld cast iron its not as difficult as everyone makes it out to be most head porters have become complacent as the industry went full on aluminum which cut porting time down significantly installing complacency in most of us i didnt rouch a set of aluminum heads to fully port untill around my 15th set of heads for verious customers .what was wild was working at a uncles machine shop building engines learning the machining process these customers would drop off a set of heads or engine from there altered, dragster ,pro street,sportsman classes of cars you should have seen there faces when they learned all that power was done buy a 13,14,15 yr old teen .. you dont race flow benches so flow numbers are nothing but a tool he taight me how he used a flow bench many sets of heads later his way of teaching was down right spot on.. all you are doing is constantly fixing another problem or situation inside the port whether it bee air speed or shape/SIZE WHICH IS THE PRIMARY AFTER YOU GET THE PRIMARY RESTRICTION FIXED FIRST AND THENNIT SHOULD STILL BE THE NUMBER ONE RESTRICTION WHEN DONE ASK YOUSELF WHAT IS MOST RESTRICTED PART OF THE PORT ?????? ALSO AIR HAS MASS IT HAS WEIGHT . HOW DO YOU MOVE AIR ALSO YOU CAN NOT BEND AIR IT WILL FLOW IN A STRAIGHT LINE SO HOWM DOES IT GET INTO THE PORT IT HAS TO DO SOMERHING TO MAKE IT FILL THE CYLINDER.

Good video do yourself a major favor get a safty shield especially when porting cast heads dont ask why trust me its not fun spending hrs at er getting a cast sliver pulled out your eye

Those intakes will puddle bad you want a very rough finish like 36 grit use your flashlight look for shadows low and high spots make them all even . Tbt that isthe only visual part of porting which after about your 5th set of heads you should know how to cross cut a prt with burr to make even flat port walls the worst is always the roof or floor being so narrow you want to just side to side the burr its natural you have to angle it then angle. Across last cut making as close to an X patern as possible or do the lift technique only cut in one direction when u lift move forward or back very little at a time keep practicing stop wasting time polishing the ports you would be better off leavingbthe burr ruff finishb then polishing i guarentee those heads with just a burr finish will do alot mre in terms of power then shiny ports we are men we love shiny things look up fuel puddling and what pop and bang means when fuel puddles i promise you i was porting gt40 and e7 heads in 1992 was my first set of heads i ever ported they were mopar heads for my first car

Not yet I have a gt40p intake that's already on the engine, but I'm gonna buy a second one that I'm gonna port and swap when I throw these heads on

Why didnt you weld the thermal holes first. You will not only loose flow but your vacume during overlap will drop.

Have you ever had a pair of anything oem ported at least in the 10s ? I've never ever welded on the thermactor and I port fuck out of e7s and gt40s and they make stupid power without any welding.

@@michaelgiglio1571 wanna get crazy you can pound solid brass rods down the thermactor tunnels and cut the roofs right to those.Then you can polish the gold brass with the roofs to a mirror. Back in the the day an old iron headed racer by the name of Gary Rohe used to raise his dart iron roofs this way.Nice videos keep it up my man!!

@@michaelgiglio1571 The last question about welding the roofs wasn't pointed to you but to the other dude who said it was mandatory. With these heads sometimes enough is enough its very easy to junk them after 30 plus hrs of shaping.

@@michaelgiglio1571 These where a pair of my stage 2 ported e7s,Stock oem gt40 rebuilder valves,ported stock intake,stock speed density cam,all used parts just cleaned up and mathed out.
