What a race! P1 was a race of attrition, P2 had its moments of excitement but GTE Pro was just a phenomenal race from start to finish!

GTE Pro is the reason I watch. All other categories just kind of fuse into one.

agreed - it drives me so nuts how much racing coverage shows the pits in general, pit stops are cool and the occasional shot def is good for emotional context but for god's sake show the RACE!

Puffstuff23 I don't know, but truthfully I'd rather have Antonio Garcia finishing.
@beenaplumber83795 жыл бұрын
@@judahsoremy9857 Give props to Jordan Taylor. His Corvette racing creds are impeccable, and he's a massively talented driver, like Magnussen. I suspect it came down to Magnussen's workload. He'd just done a very long (and amazing) stint that morning, and all teams were rotating their drivers out rapidly in that heat.
@judahsoremy98575 жыл бұрын
@@beenaplumber8379 Magnussen is an incredibly talented driver, I just saw the way, Antonio Garcia had been driving at this point and thee only person that could beat, Antonio Garcia at this stage was, Antonio Garcia.

Race after race, that Michelin Man creeps me out! Go away! Get out of my nightmares! 0:48 You can't pass in a pit lane, can you? A pit lane that's under yellow flag? Where there are marshals and mechanics in the traffic lanes?
@Ewane5 жыл бұрын
Beena Plumber you can if a car is below the pit speed limit
@beenaplumber83795 жыл бұрын
@@Ewane Wow, I'm surprised by that. Thanks for the clarification. I only know the rule on the track in F1 (which I think is the same in WEC) that says you can pass on the track under caution if the car is "obviously" struggling at a slow speed (which this car was), but it's not specific about how slow that is, and I don't remember reading how they handle such things in the pit lane. It surprises me that they didn't require a marshal's wave-by in this case, as it happened right at the incident location. (Well, it was the incident.) I'm glad I'm not the one who has to know all these rules and tell my driver what's ok. I have so much respect for drivers and their engineers. I know that's part of racing, and teams make mistakes with the rules, especially if they've moved from one series to another, like an IMSA team racing at Le Mans.

Anthony Hague Watch it again. The Aston Martin knew he went wide and cut back inside knowing the Corvette had the right line.
@honda9000006 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Aston Martin touched the Corvette on the left rear. Puncture was at the front. Seems legit that Corvette was robbed... Stupid. Corvette lost the race from a puncture. Not from an Aston Martin move.
@beenaplumber83795 жыл бұрын
@@honda900000 The impact with the Aston at Arnage was side-to-side, and it was on the Corvette's left. That might have started a slow leak. Technically, I think that was the Aston's fault for an unsafe re-entry to the track. JT kept 2 wheels on the track, but the Aston was completely off, and he crashed his way back on. Not unreasonable in those circumstances, but I think technically that impact can be ascribed to the Aston. Whether it caused the puncture, I dunno. JT abused his tires pretty badly during that stint. He munched a lot of kerb.
@honda9000004 жыл бұрын
@@beenaplumber8379 No. Only a little touch at the left rear even when its look sight to sight... The tyres were just gone at the end of the race. The Aston Martin dive was a pretty hard move which could end in the gravel for the Aston Martin aswell.
