We chose to do a total restoration faithful to the original, as it should have been in 1984

É stato il mio primo motorino comprato onestamente 30 anni fa... L'ho smontato, rimontato ed elaborato fino allo sfinimento!! Era fantastico girare per la mia isola sempre ad una ruota!!

One of the many mopeds i had in the late 80's, took me to school and work daily. I would have loved to hear it run after all these years. My last Piaggio was a MP3 500 but i found it too expensive to maintain, so i went back to Honda. I now ride a 2000 Transalp, good as new condition ofcourse. Here in the Netherlands we don't have Mot's (annual inspections) for mopeds or motorcycles, it is just common sense to keep it in perfect running condition. If the cops find you on anything not road worthy they will take it off you there and than. Good job, i'll check out your other video's.

Hi Honda Rider and welcome to the channel!!!☺️ As soon as I can I'll make a short video driving the SI I also have a Transalp but from 1995 I have several HONDAs... A 750 Four from '72 Two 400 Fours, one from '75 and one from '76 and a VFR 750 from 1993 Unfortunately, however, here in Italy the laws are decidedly more restrictive 😢 But we enthusiasts don't give up😉✌️

L'avevo esattamente uguale nel 1981, dove 6 mesi me l'hanno rubato davanti a scuola, tagliato la catena e addio al mio SI. Gli avevo modificato il variatore e cambiato la marmitta x mandarlo un pochino piu' veloce. HAAAA che ricordi, quante belle passere ha portato quella sella!!!!!

Wow! What a transformation. Ready for another 40+ years of service. Awesome job! I personally only saw a hand full of these here in the States. I do understand though that these made it all over the world and were quite popular for obvious reasons. Again, outstanding job on the restoration.

Hey got a 1986 vespa piaggio si monte carlo i have 2 grey and 2 brown wires going to grey 3 wire clip thats not plugged to anything when trying to start it the horn works but no spark

I can not find any help from other chanels. But i would like some advice on my piaggio moped. I have ciao and bravo, and both have the same problem. They dont have traction, but if i cover a portion of carburator it seem they gain some. The bravo hase coplet new piston,head,shaft. The bravo was idling for some time.

Welcome to the channel 🤗 It's not easy to understand the problem remotely and especially without listening to the defect... in any case I'll ask you a couple of questions: When you say cover part of the carburetor do you mean the air filter? Are the carburetors perfectly clean? Is the configuration (cylinder, carburettor, muffler) the original one?

I would love to see you buy a beat up Malanga, Testi, Beta or other brand and build a custom moped (cafe racer maybe). I know they are expensive but you must be able to find something more interesting than another Piaggio brought back to original. I'm building a custom Motobecane from 1959 (not on YT). Nothing personal, I love your series even though I don't understand a word.

Wow! What an awesome job. Such great eye for detail. These Piaggio moped engines are the best ever. By the way, do you have a video how to grease the vario? I read that in the manual it needs to be greased every 4000 km or so. I own a 1988 Superbravo. Thank you.

@@VINTAGEPASSION senza niente togliere al tuo lavoro, ma non è venuta bene.. il trasparente in mancanza di aspirazione presenta tantissimi punti di polvere ben visibili dal video e il lavoro di preparazione è fatto molto alla buona e in fase di verniciatura si accentuano molto tutti i difetti.. certo, ad un occhio inesperto sembra bellissima, ma chi se ne intende un po' vede molto i difetti.. mi sento di consigliarti di appoggiarti a qualche carrozziere, anche solo per informarti su come procedere al meglio.. vedila come una critica costruttiva, perché, per il resto, hai fatto un ottimo lavoro, ma in fase di vendita (se mai deciderai di vendere) chi compra, la prima cosa che guarda è la verniciatura e, di solito, chi compra questi oggetti si intende un po' di queste cose

@@denixir Ciao Denixr, grazie per i tuoi consigli ne farò tesoro. Un carrozziere bravo (non tutti lo sono) sicuramente farebbe un lavoro migliore ma la filosofia del canale è il fai da te, la ricerca della soddisfazione nel riuscire a fare da soli, magari con uno scalino di qualità in meno ma ad un costo sostenibile per tutti. Potrei limitarmi a smontare tutto e poi dare il motore ad un meccanico, il telaio ad un carrozziere e così via per poi rimontare il tutto ma il costo finirebbe per fare superare di gran lunga il valore del mezzo...non credi? Credo che la soddisfazione di guidare qualcosa ricostruito con le proprie mani superi la vista o la consapevolezza (perché non tutto è visibile) di avere qualche difetto... Cmq grazie ancora per il tuo commento🤗 Tu quindi fai il carrozziere?

@@VINTAGEPASSION ciao, forse non mi sono spiegato bene, ci sta.. non intendevo assolutamente dirti di portare a verniciare dal carrozziere, dicevo solo di andare da un carrozziere a farti spiegare come passare le carte per fare in modo che quando vernici non si vedano i difetti.. per i punti di polvere sul trasparente potresti chiedere ad un carrozziere di indicarti come pulire e preparare le parti prima di verniciare.. dai il fondo e lo ripassi, poi dai la base opaca e il trasparente, ma se non passi acetone, antisilicone e panno antipolvere soffiando, sul trasparente si creano punti di polvere.. tutte cose che puoi fare a casa, migliorando quello che già fai con poca spesa e qualche consiglio.. se trovi un carrozziere un minimo disponibile (anche se non è facile 🤣), ti può spiegare un po' di cose e magari, ti fa assistere a qualche sua lavorazione.. Io, di lavoro, faccio il meccanico prevalentemente su auto d'epoca e supercar e abbiamo anche una carrozzeria, quindi alcune cose le conosco..

Ottimo lavoro davvero, stupendo! Unica cosa che vorrei dirti è di cambiare la modalità di cambio immagini con la sfocatura, perché tra questo e il fatto che la telecamera ogni tanto sfocava mi sono partiti gli occhi 😅

@@VINTAGEPASSION appassionato sicuramente ma non esperto come te. Ho una Yamaha XV 750 special del 1981 che sto cercando di sistemare, ha un problema con l'accensione, il pignone non esce e non parte...può essere che sia colpa del motorino di avviamento sostituito che non è adatto?

@@VINTAGEPASSION non ne ho idea, c'è l'ha il meccanico la moto e mi ha detto queste cose. In pratica ha sostituito il motorino di avviamento e un ingranaggio che sgranava pensando di risolvere, ora invece mi ha detto che il pignone non esce, non so cosa esattamente intenda ma sta di fatto che la moto non parte

Buongiorno!!visto il tuo video inviatomi da un caro amico ed eccomi qui appena iscritto. Mi si è riaccesa la scintilla! Ho un SI del 1990 verde metallizzato. È rimasto così come lo lasciai con 65 Malossi, scarico Giannelli Power, variatore Pinasco, cinghia dentata e travasi cromati. Non va in moto da ben 23 anni e a tal proposito volevo chiederti cosa mi consigli di fare prima di tentare la prima accensione? Oltre a svuotare e pulire serbatoi e carburatore pensi sia il caso di oliare un po' il cilindro agendo dalla parte della candela? Attendo tue istruzioni. 😉

Ciao Davide e benvenuto sul canale!!!🤗 Capisco perfettamente le emozioni che provi quando scrivi "scintilla"...nostalgia, entusiasmo, romanticismo...e ti assicuro che quando rimonterai sopra il tuo SI sarà come fare un viaggio nel tempo che ti riporterà esattamente dove lo avevi lasciato... Ma adesso veniamo alla tua domanda: da come è equipaggiato il tuo SI direi che sei perfettamente in grado di fare tutto da solo, infatti hai descritto esattamente quello che devi fare prima di metterlo in moto, suggerirei di sostituire anche la candela, tutto questo se il motore gira libero Se invece fosse bloccato allora tutto cambia e si potresti provare a spruzzare del WD40 nel cilindro dal foro della candela. Ora però sono anche io curioso di sapere se partirà o no ..quindi aspetto un tuo aggiornamento Buon Lavoro 😉✌️

Ciao Paolo, ben trovato sul mio canale!☺️ La vernice contenuta nella bomboletta è la stessa che usano i carrozzieri (le faccio preparare) ed è ad acqua Poi passo a pistola un trasparente 2k ( volendo lo fanno anche in bomboletta) Per non far saltare la vernice la cosa più importante è pulire bene il supporto e sgrassarlo con antisilicone😉✌️

@@paolo.c6591 Ricorda che in carrozzeria hanno molte attrezzature per ottenere una buona verniciatura uno su tutti una stanza apposita dove non vola la polvere. Quindi quando vernici pulisci bene l'area dove lo farai e possibilmente bagna per terra in modo da non fare alzare la polvere. E cerca di farlo quando le temperature sono sui 20/30 ° così si stenderà meglio ed asciugherà prima😉✌️

Ma hai pulito l'interno del serbatoio? Il problema del SI e' che si forma della ruggine all'interno, e poi dei frammenti e polvere di ruggine vanno ad intasare il filtrino benzina del rubinetto sotto al serbatoio.

L'ho pulito ma non ho usato tankerite... Tutto sommato non era poi così malandato xké dentro era quasi pieno di miscela....l'olio deve averlo protetto nel tempo e dagli agenti atmosferici A presto 😉✌️
