Sir Salman Rushdie is one of modern literature's most celebrated authors. His new book is "Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights" only bolsters that reputation. He was at The Banff Centre in September 2015, and joined the CBC’s Eleanor Wachtel on stage for this Banff Centre Talk.
Listen to them discuss his new book, the fatwa that took over his life for a decade, and why he’s so fascinated by genies - with many laughs and poignant moments along the way.

Absolutely amazing interview. Did Rushdie wipe tears from his eyes after reading that passage? Well I was crying during the reading. Homeless.

A brilliant interview of Mr. Rushdie ! I loved it the way the interviewer did it as well. But I think the lady must not have understood many things of typically Indian origin.......

They chased after Salman, who was feeling about the jungle that is their hearts and souls, torches in their stoney and bloody hands; the fires of their torches did nothing but unveil the horrors and corpuses piled under the trees that are their legacy.
