PertSnergleman's Review:
-------------------------------------------
Michael Chang has a history of becoming the youngest in his tennis accomplishments...
In 1988 he became the youngest man to win a match at the U.S. Open.
In 1987 he became the youngest to win the U.S. boys 18-and-under championships...
"He has the head of a champion," said his coach, Jose Higueras. Ranked 18th in the world before this tournament, Chang plays with a two-fisted backhand and has strong baseline strokes, but little else in his game suggested he was capable of winning here at such a tender age. He is noted for his will and durability, however, with a 4-1 career record in five-set matches. He has a 21-5 mark this year. "He has played a lot of tough matches and kept coming back all the time," Edberg said. "You have to admire him a little bit."
Thanks for your support from all of us here @ PertSnergleman™ Channel... Enjoy the Tennis!

Die größte Niederlage Edbergs. Immernoch unfassbar, er hatte ein soo gutes French Open Turnier gespielt. Er ist eine Legende, ohne Zweifel , der Sieg würde ihn bis heute mehr würdigen. Bester serve and volley player of all time!!

The greatest generation of American Tennis, maybe ALL tennis: Sampras, Agassi, Courier, Chang (All same age division; Slam Champions). Other pretty good players out of that era: Todd Martin, Jonathan Stark, David Wheaton, Martin Blackman, Al Parker and a bunch of others I can't think of right now. What a time in tennis!

Michael Chang was a professional tennis player who played from 1988-2003. He played singles at the 1992 and 2000 Olympics. Chang was best known as a professional for winning the 1989 French Open when he was only 17-years-old. This made him the first American to win that title since Tony Trabert in 1955. Chang never won another Grand Slam event but lost in the finals in 1996 at both the Australian and US Opens. He won 34 professional singles titles in his career, and reached a top world ranking of #2 in September 1996. He rarely played doubles.

Sampras competed in nine French Opens. In eight of those, he did not make it beyond the 2nd Round. Pete was not a clay court player - although he did win Rome one year. No surprise really, his main goal was to win Wimbledon and he refined his game specifically for that Title. Worked out pretty well because he won seven Wimbledon Singles Titles.

@@karmicselling4252 Why was Chang better on clay? Is the surface slower thus allowing him to use his speed more? It seemed like he suffered on hard courts more where the ball traveled faster.

Those 11 or 12 break points in the 4th felt like and practically were match points, as Edberg was in total control and Chang was completely there for the taking. One of the most heartbreaking losses in tennis history, I can only compare it to Mac losing to Lendl in 1984 or Federer losing to Djokovic at Wimbledon after missing two match points on his own serve

Chang beat Edberg a few months earlier at Indian Wells (easily) at altitude, favoring Edberg. He also beat Lendl in an Exhibition on clay in Atlanta, so he was full of confidence during this tournament. That kind of confidence is tough to beat.

Great achievement by Chang , but he wasn’t expected to win it , and as time went on , I recall him not closing out some relatively important matches , yes , he was physically smaller , Agassi was slightly taller , I don’t think he worked well under pressure, and the matches he lost , while ahead , showed .

If Stefan was of Chang's height, he most probably wouldn't have even won a single match in his entire life, let alone a whole tournament. So, let's give Michael Chang his due and respect for battling it out like a true champion and warrior despite his shortcomings (no pun intended) and his age and..., and played magnificently against a much superior and seasoned player such as Edberg!! Way to go, Michael Chang ✌️

Stefan Edberg had a great backhand but his forehand was extremely weird and weak. His permanent serve and volley playing style was alright for the 80's and the beginning of the 90's but in today's tennis with players like Nadal, Djokovic and Alcazar he would receive one return after the other and would have zero chances of winning with that kind of game. Nobody plays today like Edberg anymore. It was a very old-school style

Most importantly I’d like to thank the LORD Jesus Christ. He kills 17 children under the age of 5 every minute - that’s 24,000 every day, but He gave me this trophy and lots of money. LORD, thank you for giving me talent and putting me in the US instead of a village in Sudan where I would die of hunger at age 4. You choosing ME and me acknowledging you chose ME and gave this to ME is a really humble thing I can say. Look how humble I am thanking you for choosing ME. I am so virtuous. I am so pious.

absolutely wrong. look at this video where rublev and dimitrov play with vintage rackets and absolutely rip their modern groundstrokes. modern players have no problem adjusting to old equipment as evidenced here. they are just better athletes and more skilled as they train better. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNx0ZciEl8iYcnk.html@@EndoftheTownProductions
