We had a different version of it and got it from my father, who had acquired it as his personal weapon in the 1970s. A powerful weapon whose magazine holds eight bullets, but it is difficult to use because of the strength of the return spring and the perpendicularity of its grip with the barrel, which causes difficulty in directing the bullet.

Back in the 1960s, when old military pistols were sold for pretty reasonable prices, these were seen much less than the more common Md. 400. They were straight blowback action, their unique styling easy to spot. My wife and l watch the original Mission Impossible series and the Astra is the most common prop gun for the "bad guys"!!

I love these video's..the machine work on that pistol is very nice...look how square the slide fits to the frame...the parts are not all sloppy and rounded over ..very well made gun.. Very nice

Funny fact: that's one of the very few 9mm Parabellum pistols of simple blowback action without any locking system, its strong spring is the reason. The original model in 9x23mm or "Largo" was even more powerful without locking breech.

@@DarkMatterX1 hmm it's an in-between, you can't own anything that's cambered for smokeless .50 cal and above, 7.62 NATO, 7.62x39, or 5.56. But there are ways around the last 3. I had a Beretta 92FS in 9x19 and know people that have CETMEs in 7.62 NATO (legally).

I swear some dude was running around with that in Afghanistan. Fuckin we were setting up convoy prepping to drive through a city and i feel and hear a pop and smack on my back, and my buddy looks at my back and there is just a small hole, it aint penetrate completely obviously but it did hurt. The shot sounded just like that, we found him later that day trying to do the same thing. We called him "1 tap timmy" because it only took him 1 tap to run away

Astra 600. One of the better 'early' Astra pistols. Spurred by a 'field expediency'. Before the Model 600 was the Model 400; it was exactly the same design (heavy blowback rather than locked breach action and the 400 was chambered in "9mm Largo" or 9mm long. That round is similar but not the same as the 9x19mm Parabellum. Sold on contract to the NAZI air force, 9mm Largo was hard to obtain, but 9mm Parabellum was issued AND 9mm Parabellum would chamber and fire in the slightly longer chamber of the Largo round. Another contract for more pistols came up, Astra chambered the pistols for this contract in 9mm Parabellum and the "600" sprung in existence. Emd the war (WW2), no more contracts but Spain was 'Neutral" officially. So the market for 9mm Parabellum pistols widened. All of Europe. And they lived happily ever after. Well, not so much.

Es una Astra, es de una empresa española que fabricaba antes que Lugger. No queramos robar cosas, ya se achacan los sitios mas bonitos de Polonia, tienen buenos coches y buenas armas como HK , pero esto es ESPAÑOL!!!
