There’s ‘wanting’ Rashford to be a success and then there’s ’believing’ he can be. I don’t believe he can be, he’s 26 and should be in his prime, his decision making is awful, he’s not good in possession, he runs into the box with his head down and often looses the ball. He doesn’t create enough for Højlund. He’s on 350k a week, after the derby he’s posting pictures of himself scoring! Read the room Marcus! Cash in on him!

Could not have put it better. We need to look at Marcus objectively. He might be a nice guy from Manchester, but he is not, in my opinion, an intelligent footballer suited to possession based, pressing football. His lack of effort is totally unacceptable

He didn't get the job yesterday. He's had it for nearly two years and he is implementing the same failing style that ole got sacked. Nobody expects us to go to city and play them off the park. But I do expect us to outplay relegation fodder like forest. How anyone can think we're moving in the right direction I have no idea.

@@mentality-monster could be that he's still having to use the same players that Ole had. The club have done him over with the recruitment and getting shafted on every fee paid for a player since he arrived. That has a domino effect on who else can come in, say another midfielder who can pass and keep the ball adequately (McTominay can't do either to the standard required, let alone out of possession ability), or a CB/LB/RB that has pace (Maguire, Lindeloff, Evans aren't quick, two are lightweight on the ball and compromise us when defending). Not to mention the inability to sell players to allow other purchases. Just off the top of my head. He's had 18 months and been playing without reserves/1st choice back line for most of this season. Only since Christmas have we only had 1 game a week, allowing work on the training ground through the season since he started.

As a player, you don’t need that so much “connection” with the fans other than giving your utmost week in & week out… many players that don’t have that connection with the players but appreciated & cheered every time they stepped on the pitch… cause they gave everything when it’s mattered which during every single game… fans not stupid & they know who gave the best & who act like primadonas…

Good point Andy, Rooney was scouse, and yet he still displayed 99% more grit and determination representing United than Marcus. Notice the words I use, That's all I expect from a local lad who loves the club as you don't even need to practice it, it should be natural, and unfortunately Marcus doesn't display these key qualities. It is baffling!

Rooney is my all time favorite player. and Rashford isn't of Wazza level. But sometimes we need to be more objective when we look players. Rooney won't be as good as he was in this United team too. This team is dismantled, no cohesion. But our fan wanted Rooney out too so I can understand why they want Rashford out.

@@anandchaudhary1675 sorry but I disagree mate. Rooney was a beast from the ages of 16/17. He was the best player and world class when he played for Everton. That’s why we broke records to sign him. Rooney would be world class in any team and he was until the later stages of his career. The current United crop Is better than Everton’s when we signed Rooney from them. Rooney was a beast in Everton’s squad. No sh1t

I am not saying Rashford is as good as Rooney. Not in a million years. But Rashford is not bad player. We all know that. He is good player. He will play better if he is surrounded by better players. While Rooney will play at least bit poor if he is surrounded by poor players. That's normal. But individual caliber Rooney is Miles ahead of Rashford.

Joe, it's never been a few bad performances. It's half his career. For years he avoided criticism but you cant ignore him taking full seasons off because he's local. Henderson, Lingard, Wellbeck all united fans too... it shouldn't matter if your're not performing.

Well that's simply not true. All you have to compare is the abuse and criticism Rashford got compared to Martial for years, despite Rashford out scoring and producing more than Martial for years. Even then what Rashford produced wasn't great, yet Martial until the last 2yrs, got away with it.

People blame him for not tracking back enough. And understand He doesn't BUT he does a lot tracking back too. But you know what I don't want my striker to track each and every time. I want him to stay forward. But our fans want him to track every time. Against City he was criticized of poor work rate while he did most sprint and did lot of tracking back too. He got injured and then his defense action become less and we need to understand that too that a injured player can't track back for 90 times and then attack too.

Consistent effort + consistent output = United legend (Rooney). Effort + little output = soft spot for some fans (Phil Jones, Weghorst). Poor effort + little output = little patience from fans, I’m sorry. I don’t care if he’s a “good lad”, if he’s from Manchester or if he’s from Mars, if he says that he cares, if he fed the children, etc, etc. He has the job that millions of United fans would kill to have, and all too often he looks entitled and thankless. Work your ass off and the fans’ support will immediately turn back on.

What would Pep do at United is a great question. Probably the same at City and get rid of every player who doesn’t fit his system (Like Joe Hart). Erik hasn’t been able to do that (he’s not without fault). He’s had drama, poor & mistimed recruitment. I’m 100000% Ten Hag in and he should be given more time with a competent structure around him!

Pep didn't have control to get rid of every player. It was a group decision with Guardiola after his first season Even then it's the DoFs that do the signings but they are all in sync with each other. That's how the City Group work, we don't. Even with Pep in charge

We've watched Marcus down tools under 4 managers now and sulk about the pitch, it's always his attitude and work rate that goes, he only seems able to motivate himself for short bursts, and we can't have that, he either can't carry the burden or doesn't want to, I don't doubt he's a United fan, but its best he goes it works out for everyone, we have seen this too often from him now. Its not about form or how well he plays. its basic effort

Paul Scholes was introverted… look what he did! Not an excuse for a player, Rashford needs to be passionate on the field, show he wants to be at the club, words are cheap without actions. But he needs support, backing and others around him to help, he needs stability which Andy alluded too and none of this squad have had for years.

Great interview, Andy was well spoken and articulate and i agreed with or understood his reasoning for the things he was saying. The only thing i flat out didnt agree with was him saying ten hag was responsible for the amount of money spent on players he asked for because he wanted all those players at the start of the window and had united been more competent with buying and selling he would have spent considerably less and those players might have done better with a proper preseason as well. To think the prices we paid as a club were ten hags fault is ridiculous and factually incorrect, those were the clubs fault for waiting until the last day of the window because they have been wildly overpaying wages and fees for a decade. As for the ten hag news that he has a few games that he has to win to keep his job seems wildly unfair as well with the squad we have. We are nowhere near as good as the top 3 at any position. Which united players are starters for City Arsenal or Liverpool? The answer is none and to expect the same level of success from a team that is nowhere near as good is for lack of a better word pretty idiotic.

On Rashford, i think everyone wants him to be a success. But we’re passed that point right now; he does seem to have given up, and i personally think it’s best for all if he moves on; United need the cash, and i think Rashford needs a fresh challenge

As a fan, I would be very optimistic if we spent the rest of this year, building a strong foundation for next year by restructuring contracts, bringing in best in class, executive members and directors, and then giving 10 hog all the tools that he needs to be successful for next year.we gave him a three-year contract. He wanted a trophy. We have an opportunity at a second this season and we need to fix the environment before we keep chopping and changing our managers.

Rashfords work rate is what let's him down... letting Ross Barkley walk around his 'press' is what he needs to work on. He needs to realise that there are standards without the ball and that's below the levels he should be giving. I don't expect him to work like Tevez but he can't let players walk around him.

The thing is, we've only had rasmus upfront who is a kid, and even with him, he's not been available for a bunch of this season over a couple of periods. Now, I dont know that Ten Hag has been ok with that. Everything that I read suggested Rasmus was the understudy he wanted. I do know that the glazers and those who worked for them have consistently let the club down in everything, including player acquisition. So I will give Ten Hag a bit more leeway, and go with what I know to be true; which is that the glazers hamstring our managers and their squads. Looking at that reality; the very clear impact of not investing in having a strike force in our squad, has resulted in the lack of goals this season. That ultimately is on the glazers still.

One of the best interviews you guys have done with Andy (they’re all mint but this one especially.) Poor Rashy needs to get rid of the PR team around him or whatever leeches or hangers-on he has. It has the air of a media circus like Wacko Jacko had back in the day. I couldn’t even comprehend what Marcus deals with on a daily basis and we’re quick to judge. It seems like he’s the first social media generation that wasn’t prepared for it and the rest after him are getting it schooled into them as kids - surely - considering the assets they’ll potentially become. Also, the socials are absolutely septic and you see first-hand the garbage and hate that’s spread throughout it. Finding people like Andy, whether it’s football related or not, seems almost impossible but when you dive far enough you can find it. I think I speak for everyone when I say 99.9% of football on Twitter (X) is a cesspit.

For me, you can't really use the City game to judge Ten Hag too harshly. But you can definitely use the Wolves game, the bournemouth game, the fulham game--luton, burnley--these are all clubs that regardless of missing players we should be able to beat--but we aren't even competing in midfield in those games. We're getting dominated in possession by Luton and Burnley and not really creating much. The standards have got to be at least higher than that. Maybe Ten Hag is a brilliant coach--but it's clear that it won't work here. I mean we've seen far more brilliant managers than Ten Hag fail at United and at Spurs and get the sack. So I don't really understand at this point why we are insisting on Ten Hag. I would get it if we weren't hiring in a best in class structure at the club to run football from here on out. But now that we are...there's no reason to be beholden to ANY manager. The football plan will continue on without them now. So there's no reason not to dump a manager when they aren't working. Madrid, Barca, Bayern have all run like this for decades.

We are missing nearly half a team ,we don't have much strength in depth we have a good team but the squad is not upto the calibre we need.

Even though I like Andy Mitten, this panel just kissed the ass(arse) of every Manager we have had at United since Sir Alex !!!!
