Strange seeing United working on multiple deals at once and for good deals aswell, any other summer we would spend the next 4-6 weeks negotiating for Braithwaite only to still sign him for £75 million and quadruple his wages

United absolutely can (and probably should) sign promising young players who are on Real’s radar and have their heart set on joining them. You offer them a 4/5 year deal with a get out clause that if Real meet the evaluation after 2 years served on the contract he can go, no arguments. If United are where we want to be in two years time, these players will want to stay and if they don’t, good enough- it’s money in the bank and you had a few seasons out of a quality motivated player. Until we get back to being top players first choice, there’s zero harm or shame in Dortmunding the fuck out of it - sign talent cheap on compromised deals and sell for a healthy profit.

I'd imagine Pique didn't want to be at United when we pulled him out of Barca. I'd take him with the expectation that there is a good chance he'd get taken by Real. We know Real want him now. We don't know that they will still want him in 3-5 years time. I'd take him.

I don't know if I agree... if I'm playing for a French team and I wanna leave for a bigger club and Madrid pop up and say "we'll sort it" and then united turn up with a better offer I'd look at madrid and go "your move" if the don't match united I'd be like "clearly didn't want me that much"

I think the club is only going to sign one of these guys this summer and the similtaneous bids are just to put pressure on clubs who want/need to sell to not miss out on the money. Everton and Bayern may both be thinking we need to agree a price before the other.

There's nothing wrong with trying to convince a player to join your club, your project when it isn't their first choice. People can change their mind when they get more details. The problem was tempting them with money.

Even if we don't get him, I like that we're giving it a serious go. Even if its only 20% of these type of deals that work out for us, we get to pick up a couple of young gems after a while.

He's super young and United isn't a bad destination. Even if his dream is Real Madrid and wants to go there and have many successful years, he still has plenty of time for that. Even if he plays for United for the next 7-8 years, he'll still be just hitting his peak at 25-26 yo and can go to Madrid and fulfill his dream.. or who knows, he might start liking it here. The thing is, if Madrid really like him and rate him, they'll come for him later too.

The decision is his. He can sit on his current contract and go for a free next year. Depends what he’s been told by Real, they aren’t going to want him to sign for United and then cost a bomb when they could pick him up for free.

It's extremely rare for a club to bid for a player without knowing if that player is willing to go. We will have sounded out his agent, and his agent will have given us some sort of nod and a wink to say "yes this is worth your time".

Even if he comes to United and his dream is to play for Madrid, I think that’s a motivation also to keep him consistent because 2-3yrs later Madrid won’t consider him if he isn’t good. So that could still be a good thing for the player’s mentality and we would demand a good fee , so I see a win win here sorta like Ronaldo when he 1st came.

He has only said he prefers Madrid not that he doesn't want United. Madrid are broke after signing the French Cry Baby. Yoro and De Ligt would be the dream team for me. Branthwaite can stay where he is.

Branthwaite is far from the finished article but is proven in the Premiership, and has a great character, if it's sensible money I'd go with him. De Light is straight off the Ten Hag shopping list and has been passed around a lot for such a young player. IF Yoro worked out, Madrid would get him in the long run and Utd could make a decent profit. We just got rid of a couple of mardy Frenchmen who took UTD to the cleaners, so why not another one?

This is a great bid in the Brandwaite deal I think. Yoro is better than Brandwaite and he's worth 50 million, so how can Everton now justify this 75 million price tag.

There is a bit of a point being made to Everton here. If Yoro wants Madrid he will have to upset his club. Madrid will want him on the cheap or on a free next season. Everton get to see we will move elsewhere.

Working on several options at once has the benefit of seing which players are the most keen to join us. We won´t sign them all, but we will sign the one who wants it the most. One of them surely has to push for the United move, and that is the one we get

Given the number of Centre backs we are looking at signing makes me wonder if we are going to play a 3 at the back next season, Dalot is a decent wingback and if we get another good wingback in that is definitely an option.

Channel defending I''m really impressed with. Manchester can go man to man press system out of possession with him in the team and play more compact. I feel, this will make a big difference in compressing our outfield block high up the pitch and dominating in the opponents half and be much better in rest defense in transitions.

For utd to have tabled a bid for Yoro,that is signalling that they have been encouraged by someone in Yoro's camp that he might be interested. Liverpool,psg all scouted him without tabling a bid.There is something definitely happening I think this might be from his agent who will get more commission by convincing to join utd

Nowadays no club make bids without talking to the player’s side. I think we wouldn’t have made a bid if we didn’t get some encouragement from the players side. It’s obvious he prefers Real Madrid but I feel he might be swayed to come to EPL and we might be his preferred team over Liverpool

I like this. Zirkzee supposedly wanted AC Milan ahead of United. But we went in early and dealt with his agent quickly. Same with Yoro, Real Madrid are dicking around wanting to pay peanuts because they know the player is keen on them. But we are trying to get it done early to show the player we want him more and capitalise on Real’s “arrogance”.

At the end of the day if you are a top player you are going to have options, he will weigh them up. If Real Madrid don’t make a better offer he may not want to stay another year, and having to choose between united and Madrid isn’t a bad situation to be in

It’s a different era. Players from the past were raised differently and the world was different. As a result, they were happy just to be picked by a major football team to play and make a more than decent salary to play -- a game! Today’s athlete’s are FAR more self aware… of themselves and most importantly - their perceived worth Lenny Yoro wants to play at the club he’s dreamed of playing at/for. He may become a great in global football. He may get seriously injured and never be the same player. Recognize the era of players being dealt with! INEOS… MOVE ON.

Would love this deal to go through. At such a young age, if we cannot keep him long-term, we will make a large profit down the line. Sure, in the main we want to buy players who stay for the long term, but this looks like good business. It's better, financially and on the pitch, than spending big money and wages on Varane/Casemiro at the tail end of their careers... As an example, Ronaldo was almost certainly destined for Real, and he had some pretty decent seasons at UTD, while also making us a profit

As far as a player, he was and still is my very first choice for right CB. He is the most talented young CB according to pretty much everyone and his style is tailor made to compliment Licha. But only if he is convinced to come... De Ligt, Yoro, Martinez would be and excellent selection of CB. Maybe next summer replace slabhead with a young left footed CB

Yoro might be happy to stay a few more years then let him go for big money if he still wants to chase his dream of Madrid.

No Jay because we have backbone now in this team! The other players you were talking about were coming to be stars not a young 18 year old! He’s not an established like de jong or di Maria we were building everything around them. You never know he’ll come in a probably absolutely love it. The club had the glazers and Ed Woodard before in and around the club with that energy! The energy in club is different now it’s a winning mentality
