I don't understand how someone could criticize someone's "messy" move-in situation. Life isn't always perfect looking nor should it be. Thank you for normalizing this and for sharing this with us. It takes so much energy to move and for me, it takes months to settle into a new space. Everything looks beautiful so far. Congrats!

I think it’s ok to have some empty space. I don’t think you need a desk if you have that nice kitchen island. Maybe a mirror if you must put something in one of those spaces maybe a nice vase or plant.

This looks so good! Tbh, I don’t reckon you even need a desk/vanity. Keeping it open and airy would be great and for short stays your visitors can use the island bench as a work space. But I’m sure whatever you decide will look awesome :) Love from Melbourne! xxx

I'm so shook by how quickly & super nicely this came together! I was just watching the latest vlog where you were flipping the desk to the room & it seemed like you still had a lot to do w/ the house so seeing this done already was a surprise! Also random but would you ever do a quick vid on the security system? I've never really thought about a system & feel like you always give really honest & thorough reviews on various things you like (& figure if you bought for both the big & guest home it must be good)!

A floating shelf with a small chair or stool underneath might fix your vanity situation.. simple and doesn’t take too much space and you can just set it above the drawers that need to slide open. Other then that.. cute spare room!!

You could get a wall mounted desk for by the closet, this way the legs don't get in the way, or even a wall mounted foldable one, so it completely frees up the closet space when not in use.

Does the bed fit in the corner, where the TV/wardrobe is? If it does, you would have a little more space to create a “living room” in the corner where the bed is currently But anyway, you did a great job. Looks very cute & cozy for guests to stay in

Omg love the guesthouse, those high ceilings too!! Tbh the only thing would be I personally don't love the armchair/lounge space there, it feels like bad feng shui since its blocking the middle of the room - i can understand theres not too much space for it but i think it would look better against a wall or the sliding door! Would also add more plants (a hanging one on the floating shelf?) because so much beautiful light and windows!! Looks great x

I looooove how you utilized this space! That kitchen island situation is a DREAM FIT too! Maybe instead of a vanity table area, you could add a full-length or larger mirror for those last-minute outfit checks before going out the door. :)

I think the space is perfect. no need for a table because I feel like guests don't really use it except to throw things onto the surface. reminds me of the space I stayed in when I visited London!

Maybe you’ll find a floating vanity for underneath the tv so the legs won‘t be in the way for when the drawers open. Then it also could be a little bigger than if it had legs! I also love the chair set up you did. It still feels grounded with the rug underneath imo!

The room looks super good and cozy!! Just a liiitle suggestion (you might have thought of it already), it might be better to rotate the bed such that you would have space to put both the bedside table on one side and a vanity on the other!

I feel like a great solution to the bed/chair situation could be to rotate the bed 90 degrees so it faces towards the tv. That would allow people to sit and watch from the bed. And then at the foot of the bed, a little loveseat could be situated to also face the tv! I know the bed would jut out a little, but I think it would allow for more functionality and comfort. Just a thought!

If you're married to having a desk next to the closet unit, you can always install a murphy-style desk that you can stow away against the wall when it's not in use.

Love seeing your space grow with you! I remember when you started your youtube channel and it's CRAZY how time flies, I feel like you're gonna be doing a pregnancy announcement the next time I look up. & I second the horrifying thought that it's kinda unusual in a boomer way to see TVs nowadays because Gen Z is watching everything on a cellphone or laptop and practically no one has cable 😂
