Jase and Simon hit an old outstation track that hasn’t been travelled in 20 years. But soft tidal plains and the big 79 series don't mix as the heavy vehicle threatens to break through the crust as the tide starts coming in. Will they make it to higher ground?
Saltwater crossings and scrub bashing open up to a cliff perfect for camp where Jase whips up his combination of a scone and a muffin that we’re calling Apple Scruffins. Mmm, scrumptious!
Fuelled up, the boys tow the tinnie down to the beach and hop in for a crossing over to Sydney Island to hunt for a Mosquito bomber that went missing in 1947 on a flight from Darwin to Townsville. Parts of the plane were spotted washed up on the shore, however the propeller that remains can only be seen with a carefully planned tide.
