lol i agree. the one class that has the best guns gets another great gun. I think DICE has had this stuff planned for a while and they are trying to turn the titanic right now, but all of the content for Overture has probably been solidified for months.

To be fair, I find that my most hated class to go against are the running and jumping, quick scoping, one shot snipers. I might just be really bad against them but to me they feel like the most powerful class.

@@C.Double. They're definitely the most annoying. Shoot them 3 times in the chest while they line up the headshot and it doesn't affect their aim at all. So fucking annoying.

@@Dubngrub That's the problem. There's no flinch. So like you said, you can pepper them with bullets only to be domed just before getting off the killing shot. Hell Recon is my 2nd most played class so I abuse it too.

I don't understand the problem people have with this gun. It wasn't hyped, it wasn't announced, they just added it to the game without mentioning it like it's no big deal (cause it's no big deal). So what if it's recycled? It's an additional gun to use and I'm glad they've added it.

And I mean the gun was used by the French in both world wars so why not put it in the game ay? If they just add the m1 garand I'd say have a lot of iconic weapons already.

Why TF are DICE not giving carbines to the Medic??!!? It only makes sense! Give the ARs and battle rifles (Gewehr 43, M1 Garand, etc) which are dominant at med/long range to Assault, and give Medics the SMGs and carbines for close and medium range options. Assault has so many more different weapons than Medic right now

Love how in BF1 the Assault got the SMGs and they were godly and unstoppable in close quarters. This time Medic gets the SMGs but they're all these slow firing, low damage weapons that are shit in close quarters because of the fire rate, but are also outdamaged at medium range by every other class. The two close quarters SMGs (M1928 and Suomi) are only good in very close quarters and absolutely burn through ammo. And with squads being able to revive each other without needing a medic, I'm starting to wonder why DICE even bothered adding a medic class.

Who cares if the Ribeyrolles wasn’t in WWII? (Or any war, for that matter-it was never anything more than a prototype.) DICE gave us a *free* gun that was a fan favorite in the last series, only it’s much improved now that there are no crazy recoil patterns or spread mechanics. Just shut up, enjoy it, and be glad it arrived in time for TTK to be fixed.

It's pretty good but I think it lacks some versatility in close quarters . Kinda sad that they gave this to the assault class. This would have been a really nice weapon for the medic class, since it is a gun that shined on the medium ranges. Also the gun (when not using the bipod) reminds me a lot of the L85A2 from Battlefield 3. Feels like it has a similar rate of fire, is accurate and has a a recoil you can manage easily. It's also the best on medium ranges, but not also not worthless in cqc.

@@danr8267 That's even worse. It's a WW2 game. If you wanna put in the old BF1 weapons as throw backs, as DLC that's fine. But flipping assets because you couldn't finish the weapons before launch is something you see from devs just starting out.

Have you maybe considered that Nations didn't really have time to develop their militaries after WW1? It was all focused on the reconstruction effort, especially the French. It was mostly the US who were researching their military, and they weren't involved until late 1941, with boots on the ground in 1942.

@@HausAbendrot The thing is, they totally did have time and did develop a lot of interesting weapons. Just take a look at this list: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_common_World_War_II_infantry_weapons I get they might want to use unusual or unique weapons that aren't in other WW2 shooters, but Czech (tybg that the ZH 29 is in the game), Swiss and Italians small arms are skipped over to in favor of guns that weren't used in either war.

As a longtime BF player I made the hard decision to pass on BF5. Well actually it was easy. But anytime I see someone elses gameplay from the game I cant help but notice it feels and looks SOOO much like BF1!! And the recycling of WWI weapons is not helping their case!

It looks similar to bf1 cause the games are in the same graphical generation but gameplay wise bf5 and bf1 are NOTHING alike. At all. The gunplay is more like bf3/bf4. The attrition changes things up alot, forcing you to play as a squad more (people actually do as well for the most part, atleast on pc). Bf1 was way more polished than bf5, but bf5 is an overall better game. Btw nice profile pic

But visually with the art style of the game it just looks so much like BF1 to me. Its so cartoony and colorful. Idk I cant get past it. And with the shitty way EA and DICE treated us, their longtime veteran fanbase, again this game is a pass for me. Im glad other people are enjoying it though.

But ya I really wish ea and dice hadn't bombed so hard marketing wise because the game itself is amazing, just everything else around it is either mediocre or downright bad. I'm just glad you're one of the few people who can dislike a game without being an asshole about it.

Bro. In the tides of war guns are probably added according to the progress in this system. The ribeyerolles was also used in the beginning of WW2. Don’t know about the explanation of the STG

I can verify this weapon is a headshot magnet as I was killing 90% of the time with headshots. It’s a beast !!!!! I have levelled it up to level 4 to get the right side specialisation tree like LevelCap has done.i got a headshot at 220 metres (220 points) this gun is awesome!!!
