I enjoy my tent camping as long as the weather cooperates. Rode around Lake Superior the other week. About 6 hrs from Thunder Bay Harley I noticed my rear tire didn't have any tread. I called them and Praise the Lord they had one in stock. They said be here tomorrow (saturday) at 9 when we open and we will take care of you. Made it there with no problem. Got my rear tire on and they noticed the front tire was cupping. I noticed quite a bit of vibration and asked if they had a front tire. Well Praise the Lord they did. So they got me all fixed up with a bill of about $1200 Canadian (about $800 U.S.) I could have tried to make it to Deluth Harley but that would have been late Saturday so that means a hotel (or camping) and hope that they had a tire or tires. The first 2 yrs of camping I used an army mattress pad. I then tried an air mattress on top of the pad. What a game changer. Like sleeping on a cloud. Well almost.

Good coverage, tire going down on the road is never a good time. Camping is hard on the aged bones.

Tires are expensive. Last few years I just bought a bigger tent and used those big air mattresses. They usually don't last more than a few trips for me though. Glad ya made it home OK.

I bought a single person air mattress from Cabelas about 3 yrs. ago and love it. No problems.

Yeah, in next year or so I think I will be going with a trike, if I can find an affordable one.
@evilevilrick10 ай бұрын
@@xanbiker Damn trikes are spensive. You can add anywhere between 5 to 15.000 to the price of a bike. If you can get that kit you were askin about on the lives, maybe you can get set for a lot less. I'm not sure, but I think that brand kit is an add on, just adds tires outside the bike, and then you'd have 4 wheels.
@xanbiker10 ай бұрын
@@evilevilrick Yes the Voyager trike kits are just under $4K but a lot more stable if a tire goes flat
@evilevilrick10 ай бұрын
@@xanbikerYah they are, but about anything is more stable than 2 wheels. A rear tire pop on 2 is hard to handle, done that a couple times. Kinda wobbly and nu-nerving.

Man i sure wanted to make this event but things just didn't line up. Hate to hear about your tire but glad you were close enough home before i full went out to be close enough to get someone to help trailer it back.

It would be nice to make more events, but the reality of it. There are responsibilities of life
