Wow. I didn't know they had conversion kits with the back tire remaining on the bike. I bought a 2000 Fat Boy, excellent condition, 34k miles, for myself and my wife. Everything was great as my wife and I occasionally went for rides throughout the country side in my area. She has been battling Multiple Sclerosis for 20+ years and it was a great get-away from her disability. A while back, she had a seizure while on the back and I didn't know until she began tilting over unusually far. Fortunately we were a quarter mile from pulling into my driveway, so I leaned over the gas tank and arched my back with my elbows up, as she leaned over on my back. My fear was that I couldn't get her off the back without burning her on the exhaust or tipping the bike and wrecking. I pulled into the driveway and hit the horn until my son came out and helped me get her off the bike and into the house out of the beating sun. She came to and was\is fine, but that was the end of her riding days. I considered trading it for a jeep like a CJ7 that didn't stop the air from rushing past us or even a convertible but seeing this, I think I may use this option.

The thing about Voyager is: It rides pretty good. However, MTG managed to engineer most all of the ground clearance out of the motorcycle, once the kit is installed Hard to load on trailers. And bottoms out easily, Removing all confidence in the design. I ended up taking it off of my GL 1500 and went with another kit. Which seems to solve those issues. Fortunately, I bought the Voyager 2nd hand for about 1/3 of the price of new.

I will agree, it's not perfect. It is, however, the best I could do for the money 💰 Truthfully I would rather have an OEM trike. Either Tri glide, Free Wheeler, or an RG 3 from Harley-Davidson. I do want to thank you for watching.

glad to hear you're enjoying it and having fun still riding. Ain't nothing wrong at all with being on a trike or even getting a conversion kit because we're all gonna end up on one or not riding and for me not riding isn't really a option for me. overall though its all about being able to keep riding safely. Stay safe out there and catch ya around sometime later this year possibly.

You said it all right there, beats not riding at all and my mental health could not handle, not riding.

What's it like backing up? Do you lean with this kit like a regular bike? I bet you will win some slow races. lol.
@xanbiker2 ай бұрын
backing up so far has been pretty easy as long as I am on a flat surface. if all else fails I can get off and push it back. No, leaning is out of the question. you only really notice a difference in low speed, tight turn situations, it took a couple of hours to get comfortable, but it is not difficult.

So what's the fuel consumption now compared to before? And also did you naturally try to lean into the first corner? 😂😂

Fuel economy did not change any still getting 40 MPG. Yes, but when you do try to lean you are reminded really quick that doesn't work.
