A true Bernese would not get dropped off in anyone's yard, as they are very expensive dogs to own! Probably the dog is a mix & wouldn't bring the money a pure breed would, although my feeling would be, any money the dog brings is money for things I need. Even a mix wouldn't be cheap!! I just don't see that breed of dog being dumped in someone's yard because the owners didn't want it anymore!! Sorry, just saying! 😉🙃🥴

Shadow Luna Do you know if they do well with other puppies? We just recently got a Saint Bernard puppy and we’re thinking on getting another puppy so he has company. We really like Bernese’s and would like to get one but we’re not sure.

@@autumnx333 You can, they are great with other dogs. And it is a great idea, for your Saint Bernard as well to have company and a friend to play with, but always check when you chose your bernese puppy if they are submissive or not. Hope that small advice helps you and good luck ^v^

We were told as well, that Bernese shouldn't do stairs until they're much more developed because of the pressure on their joints and all the hip and arthritis problems they get. But yeah, that nappy its rediculous unless it's a disabled puppy. You gotta go through the pain of house training!

My dog Bernese Mountain lived from 1999 to 2012. Greatest dog.

My dog is still living. But may die next year or someday.

It's so depressing to think that. You could give him or her an amazing life, and all living things, including us, die all the time. Having one may help you deal with the inevitable, and bring you joy simultaneously.

What about a mix? These pups are very expensive to purchase though...

@Rob Antico mine is about 12 now if you treat them right and walk them 3 times a day for about an hour they will grow to be very healthy!!!

@@monamalek2 When my dog was a lot younger we went on long walks to keep them healthy because they walk al lot in the mountains. if you have time walk them at least 2 hours a day! or one hour in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening!

@@sambeudeker6602 I'm glad that your dog is doing so well but unfortunately even the best treatment can't prevent them from all the diseases that they're prone for.. One of our bernese has some kind of down syndrome and cancer and his nephew recently died of cancer at age 5 despite having a healthy lifestyle

@@aerdian Aerdian, that's interesting to know. Thanks! Do you know of a good mix that could help with some of their health issues? I've heard of "bernadoodles" having longer life expectancies , but that breed might give them a more energetic aspect.

@@robinenbernhard Well you're the stupid one,look at your spelling. I've raised 4 bmd's. Sick or not sick I've never diapered any one of them. Sick or not the house training has to continue. I'm guessing that you house trained your dog the same way.
