Really glad that I,ve found your channel, with such a great material! I am moving in Sweden - Trollhättan, in a 2 weeks time. Already applied for Swedish language courses in school, but will also learn by watching your videos, indeed. I really like your way of teaching. Keep it up! Tack så mycket! 🇸🇪

You don't really have the mer/fler distinction in English but you DO have it in the other direction... less/fewer exactly mirrors the swedish way, but for mindre/färre. So it might be a good way to explain to an english speaker, if they had used "less" or "fewer" in english, you should use "mer" or "fler" in Swedish for the "more".

Hello dear fun swedish Team! I absolutely love your videos and video courses. They really helped me to prepare for my student exchange year. I stumbled upon this course named „learning swedish“ from the swedish Gouvernement and i was wondering if you could tell me weather or not this is a good way to learn swedish.

When a Swede thinks of the colour purple, do they always think of the ligher-purple (Lilac) rather that the deeper-purple (ie. more darker reddish hue to the colour)? As a British person I usually think of the deeper colour when I hear the word Purple!

light-purple tends to be more pink ? And we have the name "rosa" or more seldom " skär" in this case

I try and think of Leela from Futurama when thinking of purple in Swedish because her hair colour is purple and pronounced the same but spelled different lila. I was wondering about "små" thiough. I take it is more used when more than one thing is small?

I have a general question, actually not specifically related to this video 😅 The Italian writer Alessandro Manzoni, very important in the history of our language, for mastering his speech and writing style went to Firenze «a risciacquare i panni in Arno» (metaphorically «to wash the clothes in Arno», which is the main florentinian river), because there it was spoken the so-considered perfect Italian idiom. Is there any similar place in Sweden for learning the "purest" Swedish vocabulary and pronunciation (without, for example, the typical Stockholmer «e» pronunce of «ä» or the so-many foreignisms we bump into studying this language)? Tack så mycket, Daniella, och många kramar! 😄

I will get eventually. I noticed Swedish like English likes to re-use certain words but depending on the context for example: Jag är man. "I am a man." (Someone's identity). Min man är från Sverige. "My husband is from Sweden." (Somebody's title masculine form). Man tar vad man har. "One/you take what one/you have." ( Referring to anyone in general). Also, other words like "ren" and mot: Björnen spinger efter en ren. "The bear is running after a reindeer.” Jag ren mina klädder. "I clean my clothes." Jag går mot restaurangen. " I walk towards the restaurant." Jag är mot kött. "I am against meat."

I noticed that it's almost correct. The problem I found was that "clean" is both a verb and adjective in English but not a verb in Swedish. You can't "ren" your clothes, you "rengör" or "tvättar" them (cleanmake, wash). Instead the example could be: Tröjan är ren (the shirt is clean).

Sure, there are lots of words with different meanings. It is understood by the context.

Thank you for your help! Can we say it is the same with "less"? "mindre" for what you can not count, and "färre" for what you can count? Jag vill ha mindre vatten, mindre bröd Jag vill ha färre köttbullar Is this correct? Thank you and continue with what you're doing!

Skulle Ni kunna förklara mig ..vilken är olika mellan transitiv eller intransitiv verb?
@FunSwedish
@FunSwedish 4 ай бұрын
Vi kan göra en video om det. Ett exempel på ett transivt verb är "väcka" (to wake someone up from sleep) och ett exempel på ett intransitivt verb är "vakna" (when you wake up by yourself or without someone elses help).

Why do you say that Swedish people can understand Norwegian language? Are these two languages similar?
@FunSwedish
@FunSwedish Жыл бұрын
Yes, very similar :)
@stormmaster108
@stormmaster108 9 ай бұрын
Yes, even after just a few months of learning Swedish, I was able to understand a non-Swedish song, which turned out to be in Norwegian. I used to read or hear somewhere that Swedish and Norwegian are so close that sometimes it can be easier for a Swede living close to the border to understand a Norwegian who lives nearby and speaks Norwegian rather than to understand a Swede from the other end of Sweden speaking Swedish.
